It's one of the big boys. Steel Force is great in that the experience is awesome no matter where you sit. The airtime on this thing is really terrific even in the middle, and I'm pretty sure if you sit in the back, it's as if you're flying most of the time. To top it off, the headchopper at the far end is a neat effect. But if you're a fan of long, floater airtime on a smooth track, this is perfect.

What a wonderful coaster. To start with I like how the lift is so slow. If you are a first time rider, this gives you that moument where your nerves kick in. I also like how you get two giant drops to start the ride. I find the second lift after the tunnel to be pretty intense as well. So barely half way you already got your money's worth. I liked the buddy hops and the air time they give, I only wish they could maintain the speed and not have to slow down.

Date Ridden: Summer of 2008. Times Ridden: 2 including once in a fairly heavy rainstorm. This may be the smoothest coaster that I have ever ridden. I realize that is a bold statement to make but keep in mind I do have both Apollo&#39.s Chariot and Montu in my ride tracker. I am not saying that Steel Force is better, but I do seriously believe that as far as smoothness is concerned this is a world class ride. Despite (or maybe because of) the smoothness, the detractors of this coaster claim it lacks intensity. I do not really agree with that statement as I think Steel Force has enough elements and forces necessary to produce a well-rounded ride. This ride is much better than its brother Mamba at Worlds of Fun. It is a great out-and-back design with a super first drop, a very fast helix at the turnaround, and a series of bunny hops on the way back that look much better than they actually are. While the ride is nor perfect, I do feel that, along with Talon, it offers as solid a 1-2 punch of steel coasters as there is in any park. Both are fast, fun, and normally contain very short lines as multiple trains are normally running. I had a blast on both trips to Dorney with my two rides on Steel Force being the highlight of each trip. On the second trip in July, it was the only coaster running in the rain so I&#39.m not sure if they close it down in adverse conditions. Due to these factors, this is a coaster that barely escapes my Top 20 ranking falling somewhere in my Top 25-30 rides. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to get back to Dorney Park to get in a few more laps.Steel Force is just a really fun hyper coaster with high re-ride scores. And oh yeah, it does have a really cool logo.Overall Rating - 9

Steel Force is the best Morgan hyper Ive been on. This is a capacity machine as Dorney runs 3 trains and therefore it usually is a walk on. The first drop was great as it was tall and gave some good air time. The following hill gave good air time as well and the turnaround helix had some decent Gs as well, but not as much as I had expected. The bunny hill finale had pretty good air time as well and the two tunnels during the ride were a nice touch as well.

This ride is "awesome sauce." I didnt actually expect much from the ride by the looks of the reviews, but you still gotta love its simple layout chock full of great camelbacks and a pretty good first drop. The lift was nice and quiet, but you cant really get much view because of Morgans trains. But the lap bars in the trains were very loose, so first time riders might get caught off guard a little bit because of this. But once you get used to this, you feel very free, and youll be glad to raise your arms on those bunny hops. The second hill was pretty boring though and you get no airtime on it. The turnaround, on the other hand, was pretty neat. Then comes the brake run and the camelbacks, and thats the ride. Overall, Steel Force doesnt give you that violent air time that Magnum gives, but instead you get some great floater air on the hills, which is just as good. Definitely give this underrated coaster a spin when youre in the park, and you wont be disappointed...really.

Steel Force was a pleasant surprise, and gets my vote for the best coaster at Dorney Park. So, supposedly these Cedar Fair-Morgans are the ugly stepsisters of the hyper world. However, I found the ride to be in the same class with Apollo and SROS at SFA, not inferior to them as I was expecting. First of all, the ride reaches throughout most of the park, but the entrance is somewhat banished into the back-corner! At first I didnt understand, or appreciate the placement of the ride, but after 5 near walk-ons on a Sunday, I actually liked it! I was surprised at the restraints: although there were seatbelts, I still had plenty of wiggle room thanks to the fact that the lap bars did not go down far. The lift is slow and long, with a great view of the park and the Lehigh Valley to the right. The first drop was good, as it seemed to last forever and had great speed. Then, the ride entered the first tunnel, with lots of positive Gs at the base of the huge drop. The second hill provided a little time to catch your breath, with a nice long drop following the crest. The helix turn-around was absolutely insane! The speed was great and the wind-rush was incredible. This is easily a better turn-around than Apollos or SROS SFAs. Then came the infamous Mid-Course-Breaks, which did seem to slow the train down, but it didnt affect the air too much. My butt left the seat on the drop after the MCBR, and basically every other bunny hop until the ride was over. Perhaps the negative Gs werent as strong as my Intamin/B&M hyper credits, but they were probably just as enjoyable due to the light restraints! Also of note, I liked the view of Lake Dorney throughout the middle of the ride.

A good, though a bit over-rated hyper. Ive been on taller, faster, and steeper drops. But Steel Force was around way before all the big names in hypers. Well, besides Magnum XL. Get high as shit in the parking lot, and get in the front seat. You wont regret it... Bud and coasters do in fact go together like PB&J.

Steel Force is perhaps the most overrated coasters on the planet. Is it tall? Yes, but there are taller. Is it fast? Yes, but there are faster. These factors, however, should not detrack from the ride. Steel Force starts out great with a wonderful first drop, a great second drop, and a helix with some great laterals. I found the remainder of the ride, however, to be quite dull. Its also not a very intense ride like as opposed to Magnum XL-200 and Apollos Chariot. Both also had amazing airtime, whereas Steel Force had two floater moments. If youre looking for a big coaster that isnt very scary or intense, Steel Force is the ticket. Its like the "family-hyper" if you will. But if intensity is sought, than this coaster will severely dissapoint.

After the version of this at VF I was not expecting much. However I thought it was a very good ride. APPEARANCE-7 No part of this ride is appealing. Not dirty or needing paint just nothing special. CAPACITY-8 Two trains when we were there, but they were not doing a good job of getting people in. RIDE QUALITY-9 Good air coming down the stretch and good speed throughout the course. Just a nice ride. FUN-8 Very similar to a lot of experiences for me. Nothing to really jump out and grab me. RERIDE-8 I wouldnt have to ride again, but I would like to. OVERALL-40 AVG-8.0 Sounds perfect since it was quite good.

Updated, I rewrote this review on 11-18-06

Judging from the other reviews I guess I hit it on a bad day. I got to Dorney and hit all the other coasters first besides Hydra. I made my way from Laz(s?)er over to Steel Force, I hadnt ridden many Morgan Hypers and to the untrained eye might think it was an Arrow Hyper. We got in a short line as they were running two trains. I believe it was the Red and Black trains.

We were next in a gate and I was looking up the lift as the Black train disappeared over the top, and the red was flying past the station and over the Double up.

We got in and down I dont remember exactly where I sat, but it was towards the back. I yanked out the seatbelt and pulled down this skinny little metal bar, which didnt seam like it would hold its self in the train never mind me. The Ops checked us all out and a "dispatch" came over the speakers and we started to roll. There was a small left turn and we were on the lift. A slow decent, but no where as slow as Phantoms Revenge which I rode the day before. About 5/6 of the way up the trains bucked to a stop and rolled back just a little bit and ever started screaming. There was a mother and her little son in front of me, I talked to them and made them feel better.

I looked back and noticed the Black Train was on the break run before the station. A few minutes later one of the Ops came up the stairs and told us it was a problem with the station brakes, this only made everyone yell more.

Finally we started up again and began our plunge down the hill. Into a tunnel, then up a huge "air time hill" which had no air time" then down into a helix, which was enjoyable. Then up a short hill to the break run. This slowed us down a little, but not too bad. Down that hill the next were 3 bunny hops, which I remember being very very disappointed with, then a double up that ripped my head off and was the only airtime I remembered, which worse then the double down on Phantoms Revenge.

Phantoms Revenge is the only Morgan Hyper I have to compare this too and neither was good. I am not a Morgan fan at all, their coasters are rough, boring and ugly.
