I do really enjoy these types of rides. The sharp drops do provide a lot of air time. This is just proof that rides don't have to be coasters to be fun.

The Monster is a flat ride. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and long ride duration.

I have to admit that these monster/spider/octopus/squid type of flats are a real blast and one of my favorites! They are deceptively thrilling, and even more fun than they already appear. Monster is Dorney Parks version, and it starts off by really grabbing a potential riders attention with a sleek and vibrant color scheme that actually looks really good. The little logo is kind of cute as well and works for this ride. The loading is abismal, theres no two ways around that. And you have to knock it a little for that, but at the same time realize that its a problem that plagues pretty much every one of these things. Once loaded up, the ride starts and treats passengers to a whirling ride full of some great spinning that is consistent throughout the rides duration. Along with that, it has some very good speed as well. Just for good measure, the park runs this flat on a nice and lengthy ride cycle too, maybe because they feel bad about how long it takes to load it up. Whatever the case, Monster is a great flat ride that delivers high doses of everything that a great ride should - thrills, laughs, and FUN!

Very good flat ride. Monster had a sleek paint job, but the rides capacity was abysmal as loading took forever since only one side could be loaded at a time. The spinning on this one however was great and constant throughout. Also, there were nice sensations during the ride and the cycle was decent.

I used to love these rides as a kid, but you dont see them around as much as you used to. I must be getting old... while fun and spinny, my neck and shoulders were hurting half way though the ride cycle from the strong Gs pulling me back agains the seat.

This ride had a great visual look. However, Im not that big a fan of this ride. Probably the result of too many rides on the travelling carnival versions of these in my youth. A notch above average.

Im going to start off by saying i absolutely LOVE monsters/octopus/whatever you wanna call it rides.
My expierence on the one at dorney was very good. It had a perfect ride cycle. It was a very nice looking monster, one of the nicer looking ones ive seen. The seats were nice, and didnt make much noise at all. the whole ride does what its supposed to do. A slow loading process can ruin the wait for it, but once youre on it you dont care anymore. The operators there were surprisingly friendly for dorney operators. My arm i was on with my friend, was filled with other girls, and they apparently hated it. so they were screaming LET US DOWN alot, and the ride just kept going. The operators laughed at them, alot. When it was time for the ride to finish, they loaded the oppisite arm first, and we were high in the air. then they dropped our arm, not near the laoding section, then they started the ride up again, and they moved our arm up and down a few times, and then finally let the girls off. it was really funny, and very un-dorney like of the operators. a well deserved 8.

I think this is an Eyerly made ride even though Monster is the name of a very similar ride made by Anton Schwarzkopf. The loading on this ride is pretty slow, but being trapped in mid-air while the other arm loads is OK since you can attempt to rotate the car a bit to kill time. The ride started off great with my car being flung in all directions, but soon the centrifugal force put a stop to any car rotation. I tried shifting my weight with no real luck. If the satellites spun in the opposite direction of the ride, then the cars would be spinning like heck I bet. Still, it was a fun flatride. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone that doesnt like spinning since this is basically an inverted Breakdance. The condition that this ride is in is absolutely spectacular complete with a nice new orange, yellow and purple paint job. The cars were also very quiet with no squeaks or anything and they spun very easily. Monster is a very fun flat ride I have to say, its certainly an uncommon one.

An average Monster flat ride, with a good spin going.

This is one of my girlfriends favorite flat rides. I cant really say the same thing, but I really enjoy riding it with her. I think that these rides get a bad rap because I enjoy them. Eventhough it is a really slow loader, it is still kind of fun. It is one of those few rides that gives my stomach a little jolt. Most of the time the ride is a walk on and almost never runs with a full load. If you are bored and just want to ride something, hit up the Monster for a good time. P.S. This thing might not be around much longer.
