Okay, don't listen to my review, honestly. First off, I hate those kind of heights. With only a metal lap bar, I was scared to death, and the worst part was that I had to use the bathroom. If you like views, this is your kinda ride, but this isn't my kinda ride.

While scared to death of heights, I still have to give this a Don't Miss.

My second favorite ride at Lake Compounce. A true masterpiece in ride design; the views are spectacular and the height makes it exciting, as an added bonus. On top of that the cars are extraordinarily quiet, so it really does feel like an escape from the world.

This is the only ride at LC that actualy scares me. I hate chairlifts but the trip through the woods is fun and the view coming back down is excellent.

The Compounce Mountain Sky Ride is by far the best sky ride that I have ever been on. With a station located in the back left corner of the park, the Compounce Mountain Sky Ride travels up the side of a mountain. There are almost never any waits for this as the ride has such a massive capacity. At the beginning of your ride you board one of the many gray cars and are restrained by just a lap bar. Then the breathtaking and spectacular views began. The ride is just, WOW! I got so many amazing views of the surrounding landscape and surrounding homes. Also, during my ride I saw an eagle during my ride that flew above the entire ride. Now I had known that this was an exceptionally long ride before boarding (about 30 minutes), but I didnt know that you could only see half the ride from the base. Once you clear the part that can be seen from the park, you continue outwards for quite a distance. The way down was fun and I didnt find it to be at all scary like other people, but I will admit that it was very steep. Though you dont get very good views of the park during this ride, it would sort of ruin the feel of this tranquil sky ride. Overall, an excellent sky ride that anyone who isnt afraid of heights shouldnt dare miss.

Oh yes the Sky Ride. Being a Bristol local and having nothing better to do during the summer, I have spent my last 3 summers at Lake Compounce. One of the favorites of all my friends and I was always the Sky Ride. With its beautiful views of Bristol and Southinton its a great way to take a rest from Boulder Dash and all the other rides. If the line seams long wait anyway, the line moves very quickly.

Right now my king of the sky ride. The views coming back are great and the ride is relaxing. when you crest that hill on the way down it is pretty intense. I would really be curious to know what something like this costs. I also find the area with all the stuffed lobsters to be pretty funny. Only negative is no real good view of the park. I am really torn between a nine and ten. I know I will reride in the future so I will go nine til then or until I try the one at Knoebels.

I really dont get what evreyone sees in this ride. Its just a chairlift to the top of a mountain. Yeah, you get good views on the way down, but it just gets boring after a while. You cant see any rides operating, just an extremely tall building. If your afraid of heights this could be hell for you. I know it was for my aunt. Its a good thing to ride if you get bored with evreything else. But that never happens.

I am sad to say that I did not enjoy the Chairlift as much as others did. Yes, it was a fun ride with breathtaking views, but thats about it. It was also very long and relaxing, with a good dosage of breezes on the way up, but having been a skier since I was a toddler, its sort of the same old thing. I enjoyed it, and it gave me a chance to see some awesome views and relax, but I cant find myself justifying anything more than an 8 in my mind.
