This was one of the most painful rides Ive ever been on! Even though I rode in the front, it was terribly rough with tons of head banging.
i really like the ride design,it has plenty of good elements, it maintains it speed, and you can hear the ride all the way on the other side of the park! Mantis is a monster!!
This ride is a waste of Steel. Be prepared for a lot of headbanging. Mantis looks neat, but all of those painful inversions leave your neck wishing you had never rode the thing.
Mantis shot up into my Top 5 at the #2 a few years ago but has since dopped down in my top 10. However, its still one of my favorites coasters. The dip to the right makes you feel as if your about to fall out, probably the scariest part of the coaster. The drop is one of the best Ive experienced, and the loop is awesome. Standing-up is an exhilarting experience as you twist and turn through its course. Definately a must-ride!
This one gets kinda rough. Great on the front though, just a hair better than the Georgia Scorcher.
Standing upside down- one thing I had never done prior to riding this and I loved it! The inversions were pretty intense and it had nice speed. It wasnt the most comfortable thing though, but I liked it a lot so, I give it a 10.
Good I guess...I didnt really enjoy this one too much. I think this thing banged me around more than Drachen Fire EVER did. (My poor ears...) I dont know, maybe the shakiness depends on your height. All I know is that my ears kept hurting for about 15 minutes afterward.
I dont understand why people complain about Mantis hurting people or being rough because I found it to be very smooth and very fast and it didnt bother me at all. I have to say that standing up while riding a roller coaster was one of the most interesting ideas ever and Mantis is a great way to experience it.
This ride was pretty good, despite the two hour wait in ninety degree weather!!!!!! I like this coaster a lot, just because its a B&M coaster. I enjoyeed the fact that this was a stand-up coaster as well.
I loved the Mantis! Although I wasnt expecting such a big line, it was well worth it. It was my sisters first "stand-up" rollercoaster and seeing the look of fright on her face as we were going down the frist big drop was priceless. The ride was long n fast, just how i like em
But....there were a few jerks and bumps but hey, thats what a rollercoaters all about, rite?
