A really good ride. The quick turns n loops keeps the excitement pretty much through the entire ride. This stand up seems a lil more powerful than an inverted.
My first stand up and I was a bit nervous but it turned out to be a blast! For me this was probly the most "fun" out of the ones I rode, being not really intense because of the large inversions. It did have some Gs, but not nearly as much as I was expecting. Nice first drop and interesting layout made this a fun ride and I regret only being able to ride it once!
If coasters were judged by looks, this ride would definitely get a 10. Mantis is a great-looking ride, with a cool color scheme and one of the best layouts Ive seen. The stand-up idea is a pretty good one, and offers the most freedom out of pretty much all the coaster types. Its interesting, but I found the best part of the ride to be the first drop. I actually experienced a lot of airtime. The first loop was good too and very tall. Dive loop was okay. Once I got to the inclined loop though my legs really started to hurt. I know people who havent ridden this ride are probably saying,"Oh, who cares." It really takes away from the ride though when all the blood rushes to your legs. Still worth riding though, but dont be surprised if your legs hurt from the intensity. The coaster looks better than it is, but still a must-ride at Cedar Point.
I liked this ride. An intense, forceful stand up from B&M. Here and there I get painful rides but its nothing real serious. The first half featuring giant looping elements really contrasts well with the quick fire second half. There is nothing like walking up to Mantis and hearing that classic B&M roar and the old 1996 queau soundtrack is classic. Everytime the Knacks "My Sherona" comes on, I have no choice but to remember my first rips to the Po!nt. My only major complaint is the capacity. There is no reason why I should have to wait longer for Mantis than Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, Raptor, or even Magnum.
Its way better than any of the other B&M stand-ups I have unfortunatly tried, but it wasnt what I thought it would be. The dive loop was fun, but it just wasnt as fun as I hoped it would be.
A great ride. Feels like my calfs could explode but thats half the fun. The best stand up I have been on.
Although the restraints are still really uncomfortable, the ride seems a lot better than it used to be. Im not sure if they are still using that brake in the middle of the first drop or not, but that might be the difference.
Its okay. I like the layout and its got some pretty thrilling and unique designs. Its very rough at some parts though.
It is a good ride. It is slower than Riddlers Revenge, and has less Gs, but it is still a good ride. I wish that the loop was bigger and that the final section would have been smoother, but it is a good ride.
APPEARANCE-8 Very nice looking and the layout is really interesting to look at. However like most CP rides there is nothing around it but other coasters. CAPACITY-8 Line move pretty fast, but I am surprised how long the line is the last two times I have went. They also had/have the worst contraption ever for entertaining you in line. Giant video screens that play the same videos in way to quick of rotation. RIDE QUALITY-7 A little rough in parts and stand ups do not treat me well so that is about as good as it can get. FUN-7 Brakes on the hill is the quickest way to kill any coaster and this is no exception. What is up with the Cedar Fair chain trimming so many rides. RERIDE-6 Has now made it into the catergory of I will ride when the line is short. OVERALL-36 AVG-7.2 I will go with the 7 since I have felt no desire to ride the last couple visits.
