This ride has become a classic. I loved the airtime towards the end. My only complaint is that its not very smooth. Even so, a great ride.
I like Magnum a lot. Its numero trois behind MF and SROSSFNE. Great airtime!! Its hard to have it stick in your mind well after you ride MF or TTD, but its AMAZING!! Deserving of the Firstdrop2 nickname the "Steel Cyclone". Its ground breaking, beginning a whole new era, and still packs a punch for 15 years old. Probably a 10 at any other park, but hard to remember with the other CP BEASTS.
A great ride for its age. Used to be my #1until MF and TTD came along. Going up the hill on this coaster maybe time consuming, but to me it just ups my adrenaline. The airtime on the second hill is awesome and the helixes are monstrous. The nearly overbanked turns kept me holding on for dear life. The best part of this ride, though, is the backside. The tunnels make for a great twist, not knowing whats gonna be next. I love the roughness of this ride, and it will always be on my top ten.
Everyone seems to really like this ride but I dont think its all too great. Its rough and needs a paint job. It gets a little boring too, theres only 2 turns and the rest are just hills. Not too exciting, but still fun and I like the view.
This ride was so much fun, the first drop was full of air and the twisting drop to the left was awesome! It was however alittle rough and the second half after the first helix went sort of slow. Overall it was still a great coaster and I can see why so many people love it.
Magnum XL-200 was my most pleasant surprise when visiting Cedar Point. When Cedar Point boasts coasters like Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster it is easy to forget about its others. Even after that I expected Raptor or Mantis to be the third best. However, Magnum occupies that spot for me. The historical implications of the coaster are immense, as this changed the goals of rollercoaster designers forever. The coaster is great. Although not as big as some newer hypers, the views are unparalleled. The airtime is the best, second only to SROS at sfne. The best airtime hill is on the last tunnel of the return trip. In general, Magnum is a great coaster that is often overlooked (only had a 10 min. wait). People who come to Cedar Point looking past this coaster are in for a real treat. What a great ride.
Its Almost a classic now. Its been around for awhile. I was scared the first time I rode this ride. I love it now. You also get some good air time for a steel coaster.
Back when I first rode this ride in 98, I couldnt imagine any ride ever being better than this one and to this day, thats not so far off the truth. The sheer fact that this coaster can still hold its own in the coaster industry 15 years after it was built, earns Magnum some serious acolaydes. For first timers to the Point, this will be the sleeper hit of the trip. Try not to get too caught up in the glitz and glammer of Millennium Force or Top Thrill Dragster because theres another world class coaster near the back of the park for a fraction of the wait. Uncomfortable and occasionally painful lapbars kept this ride from being a 10.
This is still a superfun coaster. The airtime you get on this thing is unbelievable! Sit in the first seat and place a couple of pennies on the dash under the windshield and just watch them and your butt hover as its going up and down the hills.
When the Magnum was debuted in 89 it was the first to break the 200 foot barrier. It is the most influential coaster ever built and one of the most popular at Cedar Point. Without this ride we wouldnt have other hypers, giga or even strata coasters.
This was the coaster which broke my fear of coasters and for that it is a 10 in my book.
