This is still a superfun coaster. The airtime you get on this thing is unbelievable! Sit in the first seat and place a couple of pennies on the dash under the windshield and just watch them and your butt hover as its going up and down the hills.

When the Magnum was debuted in 89 it was the first to break the 200 foot barrier. It is the most influential coaster ever built and one of the most popular at Cedar Point. Without this ride we wouldnt have other hypers, giga or even strata coasters.

This was the coaster which broke my fear of coasters and for that it is a 10 in my book.

The ride that finally got rid of any lingering coaster fear. After I rode this ride I officially becoame a coaster guy. For years I viewed this as just too much for me too handle. But thanks to my dad pushing me down and strapping in my lap bar I overcame my fear. Now it is just a great story to tell people while Im waiting in line. Ill even admit I was 19 before I could make myself ride it.EDIT-After my last couple experiences have shown me that this review needs rewritten. The orginal is still true, but the rating is not. APPEARANCE-7 I never really liked the look to begin with and now it appears really dated. The view is still fantastic though. CAPACITY-9 Still very good but the way they designed the station cause a huge logjam around the front. If you use that to your advantage you may save some time. RIDE QUALITY-8 Always has been a little rough and always will be. However on my last visit it just felt slower so that was my reduction here. FUN-7 Still remember the rush of the first ride, but while it is still good it has sort of a job like feel now. RERIDE-7 A long way from the guaranteed reride of the old days, but still worth riding if the time is right. OVERALL-38 AVG-7.6 I will go with an 8 since I have still had more good rides then bad, but it is no longer a top ride on my list.

This ride gives some great exector air time. I think I got a few bruises on my legs. They were well worth it by the way. I did find the turn back right after the helix was a tad rough the first time, but on repeat rides I just held on for that part and it was fine.

I was expecting a coaster that was sort of like Millenium force, but not as tall with some other elements in it. I was wrong. This was the most painful ride I went on at Cedar Point. I have a feeling it was because the ride operator in the station pushed my lapbar down probably a few clicks past where it should have been. So I was in pain before the ride started actually since the lap bar was cutting off ciruclation in my legs. Then once the ride started, after going down the first hill where I should have gotten some air time, I got pulled up tighter against my lap bar, and this is how the whole ride went. My legs were numb after the ride was over. My rating would have probably been a lot higher if I wasnt in pain during the ride.

Magnum always gets my stomach on that first drop. The thing I love most about this coaster is the location. The view from the second hill of lake Erie is awesome. This is a must ride at CP. Magnum paved the way for a new generation of extreme coasters. It is starting to show its age though. The bunny hills are a little rough, but I always get a couple of rides when Im there. Overall I think its a very good coaster.

This coast has been my favorite since it opened in 1989. This coaster has all the elements I enjoy from roller coasters including high speed, lateral, air time, and a great view. Even though MF has a taller first drop, I prefer Magnum for all other elements. First seat provides the best view, but last seat provides the best air time. One note: 1:3 and 2:3 can be rough at times.

Its pretty good...not as good as MF in my opinion though. I rode it at night and the tunnels are pitch black. The location is so beautiful along the coastline. Definately glad I rode it.

The Magnum XL-200 is the most historic coaster in the park and the most historic in my mind. The first hypercoaster to ever graze the planet and what a rush it still provides. The crazy dips at the end of the ride provide so much hardcore airtime that your gut gets a grand beating. I love the astonishing G-Forces and the advertisement for the ride when it first came out was definently right by saying how intense the ride was and that it was outworldly. My first ride I was so caught up in the myth of the ride that staring at it gave me chills. This ride started it all I thought and I was glad to be riding the "original" in all respects. I loved the pretzel loop at the halfway point of the ride and it gave a nice relaxing sensation as well. The camel humps on the way back are extremely intense and are still the best in that I have ever been on. The magnum is a 9 only because more thrilling rides have been produced but still will never drop below this rating for me. Long live the most classic coaster in my opinion.

I could ride this one all day and the long lines on TTD, MF and Raptor almost made that a necessity when I was last there. Rode about 20 times over two and a half days. Fast, smooth, tons of air time, open air cars allow a lot of movement. Also affords for the greatest picture taking opportunity of any coaster
