This was a great classic wooden coaster. It provided decent air and is tucked away in a nice section of the park and is great for the whole family.

Not a bad coaster at all. Comet was a pretty fun ride with some airtime. It's been 12 years since I've been to Hersheypark and I need to go back ASAP!

This was the first coaster I rode when I went to Hershey Park... but I dont remember a whole lot about it. I didnt get off it thinking it was horrible, just nothing seemed to special about it. A decent coaster but not a great one.

The Comet is one heck of a great looking coaster and certainly a classic, but it was a disappointment. The first drop gave some great ejector air in the back, as did the second drop and the next turnaround hill, but then came a mid-course brake run that killed any speed and air that could have been produced from the bunny hill finale. Also, the Comet provides no air in the front, but just the air I mentioned in the back seat.

The Comet is certainly a good classic coaster. This is the first coaster that you come across when entering Hersheypark. And wow! The ride still looks incredible despite its age. I have only been on the Comet once and I remember waiting about 20 minutes for it. I rode at night and originally was going to skip it because it was too big for me. However my rides on Lightning Racer buttered me up so I gave it a try. I rode in the front and I love the buzz bars this ride still has. The Comet was very good and it was enhanced by my night ride. That first drop was very big and fast. The following hills didnt disappoint as the Comet provided a fun and very smooth ride. Though overshadowed my Hersheys other coasters, dont miss their classic coaster, the Comet.

The Comet is a pretty good classic wooden coaster. Its got a nice drop, and it definitely packs more of a punch that it looks like it would.

Fun ride, rode it in the morning in the front and it was ok, nothing special IMO, it wasnt until towards the end of the day in the back that it really showed itself, lots of fun with some airtime as well, just needs to be warmed up to give a really good ride.

For me Comet was the biggest surprise at Hershey. At first glance it looks like a slightly taller copy of the Wildcat at Lake Compounce, a somewhat run-of-the-mill, albeit nostalgic, ride. The Comet, however, was anything but ordinary. The first drop actually had me out of my seat and screaming, something I havent done on a ride since I was 10.
This thing FLEW around the turns like it was brand new, and the whole ride was smooth as glass. The hidden L-shaped out-and-back part with the bunny hills was also an unexpected bonus. Kudos to Hershey for keeping this classic ride in such great shape, as I know from experience how expensive and time-consuming maintaining wooden coasters can be.

The Comet was one of the biggest surprises of my first day at Hersheypark. I was expecting an okay ride, but one that had aged more and had more breaks than the Wild One. While I think the overall quality of air is a bit less than Wild One, Comet had airtime from start to finish. Some reviewers have noted that the ride is heavily breaked, and therefor resulted in a pointless second half, but I noticed barely any breaking and certainly no weak second half. A couple of things that I really liked were the fact that you got airtime on the top of every hill, no matter if it went down afterwards or not. For example, the second hill is a turn-around, but you still get some airtime at the top. All of the turns also had some good laterals. I loved the old trains and the single-position lapbars, that gave great freedom, which is probably the thing I love the most about wooden coasters. The lack of restraint made it feel like you could practically stand up on every bunny-hop. The best hop on the ride seemed to be this little hill right before the track made a turn into its structure. The ejectors were crazy on that little hill on both my rides. I also thought the station was neat, as the riders were loaded on a downward slope! Overall, Comet really kicked some butt and was a huge surprise. The airtime wasnt legendary, but was very consistant. I had no problems with breaking and actually found it to be the best wooden in the park!

Wow my old review was awful.

The Come is a great ride, it has some good air time and runs pretty smooth. Has a low capacity, even with two train operation. It has a nice colour scheme with the Blue-Black track and off white supports. One train has been named Mork and the other Hailey, adds a nice touch. Has a pretty steep first drop, worth the wait.
