The theming is great and the ride experience is just a good.
A great coaster for young kids. I still found it pretty thrilling and I enjoyed it. The anamatronics are pretty funny and entertaining. The only problem is that it is really really loud when you go up the lift in the cave between the "bat noises" (loud shrilling) and the sound of the lift echoing off the walls. When i rode it most of the little kids had their hands over their ears during this part. After that the ride is enjoyable.
as a child it was one of my favorites i can remember one night my uncle and i getting off and getting right back on again. it is closed for refurbishment i was riding it the night before it was set to close down to get worked on and thank god bc all it did was jerk me around it hurt a little that i was leaving this time with such a bad experience to such a beloved childhood coaster
Very smooth, fast, and lots of unexpected animatronics! At disneyland there weren't as many. Fastpassing this one is a good idea. The shaking boulder effect was broken, though. But who cares?
Not as good as its Paris counterpart. My 7 year old found it very tame, but very well themed and worth doing. Try your kids on it before venturing for the Expedition Everest which is a faster and scarier version - and use the fastpass. I can't believe that people are willing to queue for 40 minutes plus when they don't have to!
I love this ride. You wait a while but its worth it. Good speed and its smooth.
A very nice mine ride. The theming is absolutely top notch. Very good speed while still maintaining a smooth ride.
To me this is one of the better mine rides out there. It has a good ride duration, the theming is very well done, and it is pretty fast for a mine ride. Going through the dinosaur bones is a neat touch. Overall rating 4.5
A pretty good ride, although the coaster is not very thrilling. The theming is well-done, and the coaster's lack of intensity should allow more children to ride without being frightened (although to many children the ride will still be visually intimidating). Adults should enjoy the ride but ought not to expect a very thrilling or intense experience because the coaster is very tame.
Big Thunder Mountain is a great mildly thrilling roller coaster. It was one of my first coasters and it proved to be an excellent one at that! The theming is well-done and the scenery is beautiful, too. The drops are quite fun (be careful on the last one, because your head might hit the top of the cave!), the twists and turns are delightfully amusing and the speed is pretty exhilirating. If you are visiting the Magic Kingdom and want a not-too-intense coaster for everyone to enjoy, this one is a must, no excuses! And the lines aren't long, either!
