What a wicked and fast whip! Not sure about the car I was in, but the car in front of me was literally jumping off of the floor when it went around the turns!
This ride is beautiful. It'.s so much fun and it'.s nice and fast. The cracking-whip noise is nice to listen to, and I love the illusion that you'.re going to crash into the car in front of you. It'.s definitly one of my favorite rides ever.
A great ride that seemed to operate differently than any other Whip I've been on. It cars "whip" both on the turns and on the straightaways. You can hear how violent these cars sound as they simply bang around the course, probably through the use of some magnetic force. Anyway, this ride is good and forceful, and every classic ride fan should ride these.
I think I previously proclaimed the Whip at Camden Park to be the best, but I have to hand the crown over to this one. It is not pretty to look at or listen to, but it gives you violent Whip action in both directions. It will beat you up a little and make you call for your momma, but this is how the ride was designed to run.
This is the best flat ride at the park. A classic, old whip, you should not skip this one.
I love this thing. The first whip I rode was at Dorney and this one is so much better. Its a great classic flat that runs at one of the fastest speeds I have ever seen. It looks like it did in the 20s and probably still runs like it did the day it opened. DONT MISS IT
The Whip at Rye Playland was the best whip I have been on by far. Located to the right of the main entrance neighboring the Dragon Coaster, the Whip sits. Inside an arena is the Whip with its green and white cars. Rye Playlands Whip has a pretty good capacity and is generally a walk-on. Loading the 2-seat cars, you are restrained by a lap-bar and seatbelt. Once the ride begins, you slowly coast along the smooth metal floor, until the first whip. The first whip really caught me by suprise as I didnt think it would be that powerful. The laterals were very good and you picked up very good speed around the turns. You really are whipped around the turns and you bounce around a bit afterwards. Rye Playland runs their Whip for a very long time and its exceptionally well maintained. A truely fun experience for riders of all ages. This is a great classic ride and shouldnt be missed by anyone. I highly recommend this ride to everyone who doesnt mind getting thrown around a bit.
I will go with the not-so-bold statement first - this thing kills Dorneys whip. And now the bolder statement, though I might get some arguments I will say it anyway - in my opinion, this is the best flat ride that this park has to offer. The ride cycle is long and very fun. This is not like a standard whip. You will not get used to the whipping motion after a few whips. This is because the whipping is fierce. Each turn does not provide one whip, but actually two: one once the vehicle hits the turn and one going out of it. And the middle is a wild ride to say the least. The cables really pop and snap and bend, making the vehicle go BANG BANG BANG... WHIP WHIP... BANG BANG BANG. This is a must ride. It is a true gem.
My God, what a crazy ride! It definitely lives up to its name, the WHIP. If you are riding this alone, then prepare for a great ride. If youre riding with someone else, then prepare for a great ride. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this ride. I just love the feeling of the lateral Gs that you get when you turn around the turns at such a high speed. I came off this ride literally shaking with laughter! I love this ride!
