Flitzer was a ride the little ones loved. It is nothing fancy just a nice entry level "coaster" for the 5-10 year old set.
An okay family type ride, but boring for any thrill seekers. It excels at mediocrity.
My slight preference to flitzers would go to Moreys, though not enough to drop a 4 here. Fun little contraption that at least didnt have me fearing for my safety, I like how the park did some theming work on the ride. Plus, Moreys knows how to keep lines moving, and Flitzer compared to the other two really put the spotlight on that.
Flitzer was an interesting little ride. It is just the kind of ride that you would expect from a boardwalk. Sure, there are the bigger rides like Great While and The Great Noreaster, but it is these smaller coasters that really fit into the character of the place. This ride was a pretty fast and intense little coaster. It was a bit bumpy and cramped with the little bit of side to side motion that there was, but it was still pretty fun. It was slightly above average and pretty fun.
I love this ride it is surprisingly thrilling. I ride it every time I go to Wildwood. I am not giving it a ten only because of how long you have to wait to board the ride. Ride this one over and over.
Great ride. Theres never a line. I once rode it 20 times without leaving the car.
The Flitzer is another Wildwood classic. This was probably the first "roller coaster" I was ever on, save for possibly the Runaway Train or Rolling Thunder at Great Adventure. Although I havent been on it in a couple of years (at least that I can remember), and I dont think it would do much for me now besides a nice piece of nostalgia, I think its a great kids coaster. Complete with cool scenery on its hole-y facade to stimulate the imagination in kids (I can remember several futuristic space ship and formula one themes).
I guess I just dont get the allure of the Flitzer. The turns at the end were good and tight but other than that there is nothing to speak of
It is easy to say the Flitzer is not safe because of a similar ride in another park had a
incident or someone was injured most likely due to rider error. The fact is New Jersey
has very strick guide lines for amusement rides and would not let a unsafe ride operate.
I’m almost fairly sure the Flitzer in PA didn’t have seat belts, where Morey’s Flitzer does.
The height requirements were probably different in PA then in NJ. So to call the Flitzer
unsafe is unfair. Its a great old coaster ride that was designed when people had enough
sense to ride it correctly. Now it seems the amusement industry can’t idiot proof ride fast
enough. That is just my opinion based on my 9 years in the amusement industry.
This was better than I thought it would be. Not a very thrilling ride but still a fun one. The only thing that doesnt make sense to me is why they have an onride photo for this coaster?
