My first 3D, pirate themed, boat, dark ride and hopefully my last. This is a yawner in terms of anything thrilling, but an okay family type ride. Nothing too scary for the little ones.
Dull. They did a great job with the 3-D painting, so much better than what I have seen anywhere but Moreys and it being a floating boat instead of a tracked car was cool, which together give it a 6 instead of a 5. Otherwise nothing happened. It was short, and about 4 items in the scenario moved. The story line of I guess old-time, ghostly pirates attacking modern tourists was a little amusing, but not clear. There was an actor who did nothing. There was an air blast, but so what? It didnt coincide with any specific scenario or action, it was just there. I thought the walk-through Mummy 3-D did an even better job of the 3-D. No re-rides for me.
Just not good. The live actor was not ready for anyone and just stood there was we went by. I was like "Is that scary?" The 3-D is a good effect but not enough to save it. It was OK, I guess..
This is much better than Dark River first off. They pretty much took everything out of Dark River and put in all new props and flourecent paintings that pop out at you when the 3D glasses are worn. It makes for a pretty cool and definately unique dark ride. They still have the live actor to scare you in there, same place and everything. The best part is the end room though, its very funny and fits in with Wildwood very well!
A great update to the sub-par "Dark River" dark boat ride. With pleanty of brightly painted walls and moving stunts, all enhanced by 3-D glasses, theres enough to see to warrant a couple return trips. A live actor thrown into the mix adds a nice element of surpise and suspense. A real dark ride for the new school, if we see a few more rides like this, the quickly fading genre may find a bright new life!
I nice relaxing little boat ride that is not scary. Its a family ride and is not meant to be scary. The 3D glasses work well. They is one unexpected air blast that might scare little kids
