Having also ridden Trail Blazer at Hershey, which I found to be average, I rate this ride a two. Waiting in line is about as much fun as actually riding the coaster. While it's very well hidden from the park, that is its only redeeming quality and only is a redeeming quantity because that way I'm not reminded of it's existence throughout my visit (lol) But I digress, I wanted to love this ride and enjoy it's nostalgia, but nothing was enjoyable about it and it left me wanting much better use of the terrain....
Gold Rusher was fun though pretty tame. The ride's layout was a surprise and well hidden, but like I said it was too tame for most of it to be great. The finale was good though and definitely the ride's strong point.
A slightly better than mediocre mine train. It makes good use of the scenerey and other rides near it and for a coaster over almost 40 years old, its not too shabby.
This ride never really materializes into any excitement. You are released from the station into a slow curve around to the lift hill. You are released from that chain lift just to catch another one 15 seconds later. After that, really nothing happens. Most of the ride is spent at a slow jog or even a walk. I even like mine rides, but this is not a very good one.
The GoldRusher is a runaway mine train that is pretty tame compared to SFStL and SFOG. I really like those two a whole lot better as I constantly go on them over there. This one doesnt even have the last drop as the other two. Its finish is a big helix which is a weird way to finish a ride. It also looks ugly being painted yellow. Minetrains remind me of the color brown.
This is a pretty decent little runaway mine train coaster. It wont blow your face off, but it will knock you around a bit. It has a very pretty setting on the mountain side and curves around trees and other rides. That makes it a little more exciting. I rode in the rain, and it added a little bit more with that. Again, a solid ride that wont make you forget "X" but good enough for a few tries.
I thought this was a fun ride. It had good interaction with the log flume. It wasnt super intense or super fast, just a nice enjoyable ride. I always liked these arrow mine trains, I dont know why people dislike them so much. The final drop and helix are very fun. The only problem was that a fat man sat next to me and I was squished at the ending helix LOL Theres never a wait, so if your in the area, take a spin on it.
Good fun for a family coater. The line isnt that long and the ride is so if you see it go on it.
This is Magic Mountains original coaster, an Arrow mine train built in 1971, and how far we have come since then. However, as far as I am concerned, Gold Rusher does everything right for a mine train coaster. It doesnt have the worlds tallest drops or the fastest speed, but its not supposed to. It does provide a nice trip through the woods and along the hillside, and you get pretty good views of the Log Jammer, Superman, and the Scrambler. For the wildest ride, sit in the back, and enjoy being yanked into the spiral finale. This is an appropriate coaster for the entire family, and you can usually walk right on, so dont pass it up just for the newer stuff.
cool for a family coaster, but it actually made me sick from the roughness
