Even at 25 years of age Nessie continues to thrill

This was a big suprise. The steep drop takes your stomach away and it is incredibly smooth for an old Arrow looper. The helix was neat and the loops were neat. Gotta love the pops of air on every drop! Peeks in at #10 for me.

Its easy for me to say that this has been the very best steel roller coaster Ive ever been on. Every moment of the ride is exciting due to the construction of the ride and the beautiful scenery. If I had to mention a favorite moment Id say its the darkened cave with the wet mist and the lighting effects shooting up from the bottom of the cave.

This was a fun coaster. The drop was steep, and went right over the water. The best part about this ride is the Interlocking Loops. When the two trains go over simultaniously, it is incredible. I took one point away due to the roughness, as usual with Arrow coasters. And I took away another point, because of the long, loud, and boring tunnel. Overall a great coaster, I loved it!

Okay it was so-so. Didnt exactly deserve rave reviews. The tunnel part was pretty cool, but besides that and the interlocking loops, nothing really made this coaster unique.

The Loch Ness Monster is no longer the tallest or fastest steel looper, but its still one of my favorites8)The first drop is very steep and the turnaround is fun, but the interlocking loops are really what make this ride unique. The helix in the dark is also a nice touch. The only problem is that I dont think they really need a second lift hill, but thats just my opinion. That aside, the Loch Ness Monster is a wonderful roller coaster with, as usual at BGW, excellent theming

Update: This coaster is 30 years old as of this writing (2008). It wasn&#39.t the first coaster I went on, but it was the first one that I recall as being really good. That was back when Nessie (and I) were a lot younger. I went back to BGE recently, and am pleased to report that the old lady is still really good. Good speed, good drops, good scenery, good loops (the interlocking part is still cool), good helix in the dark, good smoothness (great for its age). I&#39.ve been on bigger, faster, and better coasters since my first encounter with the Monster, but she is still holding up very well. You can go home again.

Not a fan of looping coasters, this ride was so well designed and lovingly maintained that I rode it multiple times. The first drop is fantastic. The enclosed helix is one of those great design elements that other parks might cut for expense, but BGW employed to enhance an already great experience. The interlocking loops and use of terrain made for an exciting and enjoyable ride. The station is a castle.

This ride looks so beautiful when looking at it from the bridge, especially at night. Although the ride doesnt share the overall intensity and excitement that Alpengeist and Apollos Chariot have, its still a lot of fun, and its nice to go on it to take a break from the bigger coasters.

A suprise for sure, and worth a ride, but not among the best.
