WOW!!! the best ride at this park, and the second best in the state (if my favorite was in the state, this would be the best!!) it has the best of the best elements. The second loop is the best, but i do love that first drop over the water, and that helix, indoors, with the screaming goin on!! fun fun fun
This is a such a classic. It has to have had the most pictures taken of it of any ride. Those interlocking loops make a beautiful picture. The ride itself is very fun although the restraints are very painful to me and I am only 59". They seem to push you down into the train too much. A great part of this ride is the tunnel. Although is has changed alot over the years, it still has a great effect on the ride, giving it something different. It has a rare second lift hill which slows it down but doesnt kill the ride. This was my daughters first "looper" so it has a very special place in my heart. It is a little painful so doesnt quite rate a 9 or 10 but is very close. Overall, a great ride.
This was a really good ride, and very unique with the interlocking loops. The coolest part was in the tunnel, it feels like you are in there forever. It never interlocked with the two coasters when i went on though.
I was pleasantly suprised by the loch ness. It wasnt too rough and all in all it was enjoyable. It was nice to have a breather in between elements for anticipation. Fun to watch from the river bank also.
The Loch Ness Monster is the neatist steel coaster at BGW.I have only been there once. When my famliy & I were coming back from living in Jacksonville FL.So we stop by BGW over night. And I cant remeber what other coasters that we rode. And this was way before they put in the Big Bad Wolf coaster and Alpengeist and Apollos Chariot in BGW.
The drops on this ride have some nice negitive gs. The loops are not too rough and if your lucky you might even interlock with another train. It is a truly amazing experience to watch a train going through a loop around you while you are going for a loop as well. A nice ride.
You should never pass by without riding this one. Only coaster I ever rode 14 times in a row. I felt the effects for several days. Wow!
Though there are only 3 drops, all of them offer airtime when sitting in the back. The interlocking loops and tunnel helix are unique features. The coaster may not be as smooth as the newest hyper coasters, but I wouldnt consider it to be rough or uncomfortable. A great ride for its time, the Loch Ness Monster can still hold its own against coasters twice its size.
This ride is a really good ride, Its smoothe and durable, and its one of my favorite arrow loopers, I like the triple helix through the cave. The ride over water and interlocking loops make it a great thrill.
I love this coaster ... its one of the only ones where its just fun to scream especially in the tunnel. The drop gives me every time I ride this funny feeling which makes a coaster a real coaster. The two loops are not scary just cool. I didnt know the Monster of Loch Ness was that cool !!!!
