This a fun coaster, but I was not that impressed by it. The height is nice and the first drop and the loop are decent but other than that it really isnt that great. The inversions come off more ho hum than fun. The first cork is a little rought but the second is really fun. It is a decent coaster, and the shoulder harnesses so on my shoulders so the ride was painless for me, it is good but it isnt a great ride.
This ride hurts but its not to bad. The loop is huge. Well worth the wait.
This was at one time my favorite coaster at SFMM. It is still damn good. However, it has lost points with me because of the overbraking. The first drop and loop are really cool.
The height of this looper is insane! It gives great views of X and the whole park. That first vertical loop is so high! The best part of this ride has to be the double corckscrews because you execute them at such a low speed you get hang-time. Arrow did a great job, it wasnt as rough as I expected it to be.
Great first drop. The corkscrews are the best part of the ride.It hurt my head a little, but not too much. This rides inversions are great!!!!!!!!
great ride except the breaks before the corkscrew
itll give you wiplash like crazy
Good ride but it didnt thrill me as much as the other biggies at SFMM. Loved the brakes, hangtime on the corkscrews is so much fun.
Viper is really a Magic Mountain staple roller coaster - even more so than Colossus or Revolution. Its a great Arrow classic. Its not silky smooth like some of the newer ones but just keep your head against the headrest and its not too bad. The 3 vertical loops are great, especially the fist one which is really high. The batwing is also a really cool element. My only complaint about this ride is the trim brakes right before the corkscrew. It seems to me that is slows the train down excessively. I know they have their reasons for doing this but it just seems a but much. The shoulder restraints are also a little tight on a tall person. Im a little below average height and my shoulders have no room to spare in these things. I give it minus 1 point for a little bit of shaking and minus 1 for the excessive braking but otherwise a really fun ride that I plan to enjoy for many years to come.
Liked the loops on this ride, but hurts too much to really enjoy it.
A classic. If you understand that this ride is older, then youll be fine with it. It really is a great ride. Just too many kids today spoiled by the forceless, smooth as glass B&Ms. Granted theres a time and place for that kind of ride too, but given a choice of one over the other, Id take a great Arrow ride like Viper. Still kicks your butt after all these years!!!
