7 1/2. This is by far, the biggest let down of the entire park. Of course, I had heard everyone saying how it was so bumpy, but I still thought I would go into it with a open mind, and I did. Although, I was expecting more from the worlds highest loop. The ride began ok, creeping slowly up the lift, which was cool, and the drop wasnt half bad, but then began the bumps. Actually, it wasnt that bad, I learned to keep my head against the head rest, and that helped. All was ok until the doubl dive loops, which were slow and boring. Yawn. What couldve been an awesome element was a complete bore. Oh well, it was half decent, just not something I would run to.
I underestimated Viper. After what I heard from my friends, I thought it would be really bumpy. While I was on the ride, I didnt really notice much roughness. I give it an 8.5. The best part are the double loops. (the double vertical loop, the double dive loop, and the double corkscrew.)
Ouch! You can stand in line for a torture machine and the tallest loop all in one. I think I got some brain damage after I rode that (esp. after my grades went from As to Fs) Not worth a long line. But hey, its a classic CA coaster and it deserves an extra 2 pts for that.
Pretty good ride considering its age. My only complaint is that it is a little bit too jerky and rough. Lots of loops if youre into that sort of thing. Dont forget to smile for the camera.
A fun coaster, it provides great thrills but loses some of its fun due to the roughness. (especially after going on the newer B&Ms in the park) The area around the ride looks very nice, it has a nice look under it instead of a former parking lot. The first drop is great, and the first loop is great as well, because of the fact it is so high off the ground. The second and third loops are just ok. Then it hits the very slow last 4 inversions. You feel like you are going to fall out during them, and you probably would if it werent for the OTSR. It depends on whether or not you like that idea (I think it makes it more thrilling). Reccomended ride, usually has a short wait.
A very disappointing ride. I really wanted to like it, but I just couldnt. Im not very tall but the overhead restraints still squeezed me down to the point where it hurt. It is very rough and that takes away from the fun that you should be having. It is rougher than Drachen Fire, and that closed. I will admit though, that loop is something to behold. It is so high up there.
This was a pretty cool ride. It is higher than it looks. the loops are fun and the corkscrews are a blast. It would have been a 9 if it didnt have sholder restraints. They should get rid of that stupid law.
I gave this an extra point just for its location and layout. It looks absolutely majestic. However, time has proven loops - particularly seven consecutive loops - to be excessive and nauseating. I didnt love it.
This ride was very rough and I did not like it. There was only one train running so I had to wait much longer than I should have waited.
I first rode Viper the year it opened and remembered a great drop, then a very rough few minutes. 2002 I rode again and was happilly surprised. It still looks great, especially that high first loop! No line, excellent. Front seat, no problem. What Id forgotten was the shear speed this ride has throughout its entire course! Sure, its a bit rough around the edges, but its thriliing and fun in a way other late-80s multi-loopers only dream about. Good times!! (and as great view of X from the lift!)
