The Cedar Creek Cannonball is a train. It is a nice family ride. It is average speed, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.

Unfortunately, this is the weaker ride of the 2 train rides at Dorney, and by a pretty good margin. Cedar Creek Cannonball, as it is dubbed, looks really good and the steam engine definitely has a nostalgic look to it. But, as it turns out, looks are about the only thing this ride has going for it. It is amazingly slow, even for a train ride, and worst of all it has one of the most uninspired courses I have ever seen a train have. It is basically just a very simple oval of track around Dorneys river rapids ride. The "scenery" just consists of the exteriors of the "canyon" rock walls on the rapids ride, along with some sparse weeds/small trees. On the other side are just views of the midway, all of which could be seen by simply walking. Overall, its just a below average train ride that moves too slow and doesnt offer anything memorable, all while being more boring than fun.

This is the slowest amusement park train ride in the world. Its more boring than anything if you ask me. I mean, maybe if the train went through Thunder Canyon or something, then it would be cool. Maybe they could have made an extention of Thunder Canyon for the train where you go past waterfalls, flowers/foliage and other things. Instead it just travels in a circle around Thunder Canyon while riders get to see weeds, white concrete paths, and maybe a kid messing around with the retractable RR gates if youre lucky. The name is very deceiving as well; it sounds more like a name for a runaway mine train than a slow little train ride. If this went around the entire park, then it would be much better.

Its a train. Not very scenic, because this park is concrete city, but its still relaxing.

For some reason I now feel compelled to review this C.P. Huntington replica train. This train was an addition to the park after the Cedar Fair buyout and is the second train in the park. It was at first used as transportation, connecting the short distance between this part of the park to the second entrance to Wildwater Kingdom near the Thunder Canyon rapid ride. The second station was taken out in 2001 when Talon was built making this a "scenic" and relaxing locomotive ride. I say "scenic" because it is not really that great of a surrounding area to look at. It goes past Thunder Canyon and a few other rides and such, but does not offer anything other than man made rocks to look at. It is relaxing, but does not really serve any kind of a purpose anymore. To tell you the truth, it really did not serve that much of a purpose when it was a method of transportation to Wildwater Kingdom because it is not that far of a walk at all from point to point. Overall, this is a pathetic excuse for a train. The ride is not that enjoyable and has no nostalgic relevance. There is really no point in having two trains in the park like this anyway. The ride is at least decent when they turn it into a spooky train ride for Halloweekends, but it is a waste. Head over to the Zephyr for a good train. And if anyone could let me know, what the heck is the reason for two trains? It still baffles me.

Nice train ride, could move a little faster. They give a presentation of whats around you so its not that boring.
