The building this is housed in makes my rating a little higher than it would be. This is by far my favorite building to go into at epcot. It looks like you are in a small town in Mexico at night. As for the ride itself, it is a decent boat ride with some facts about Mexico and some entertaining spots with Donald duck and friends. If nothing else check this out just for the atmosphere. Overall rating 4.25

The new updates push it up to a 7. A nice ride in Mexico and it almost never has a long line.

Nice little ride of history to sit back and relax with at the world showcase. This is a great ride for all ages. It gives a great story of Mexican history both past and present. The referbishmint should even make this better.

This wasnt bad. I actually liked this, despite the "Small World"-inspired segment. At least it was brief.

I love to go on this and just sit back and relax. Its just a classic Disney ride with that old time feeling.

Its a small world + Mexico= El Rio Del Tempo This is an interesting ride with hardly any line. The temple at the beginning is interesting, and the fireworks on the ceiling at the end of the ride is pretty cool. Nice ride to get off your feet, without having an annoying song being shoved into your brain.

Beaner Boat Ride!! LOL I got a kick out of this one, a historical tour of Mexico. The sets are old but still kinda cool, and I thought the dining area would have been cool. Too bad they omitted the Rio Grande crossing and IRS evasion parts to Mexican history, but for some reason I really liked this ride. Perhaps it was the lack of the ride combined with the indoor, cool setting and classic EPCOT flavor.

I have to give this an average score. Part of the reason I like this is because of some childhood memories. I also think that the sceen at the beginning is just magical and really captures Disneys wonders. However the rest of this ride isnt all that great. A simple redoing of the movies inside would help a great deal. They are so dated, that it become humorous istead of educational. I do find it rather romantic, and in some parts of the attraction I actually learned somethig about Mexico. But it definately could be redone or updated.

El Rio del Tiempo always was a ride I just felt obliged to ride every time I went to Epcot despite how dull of an attraction it always had been. At least it never had a wait at all though. But this year when I rode the ride was much different and appealing, as following a rehab this really dull attraction benefited from a much needed rehab where in became the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros. Does the new attraction trump the original? Well it certainly does, and it does by a long shot since the older one really was just that bad. In my opinion, the Mexico pavilion still is one of the most beautiful ones in my opinion and it really just captures the whole feel of the Mexican culture, both from the exterior and interior. Also, I love how the Gran Fiesta Tour never ever has a line, just as the original never had one.

Let me start off by saying unless you are lucky and are assigned the front row, the rows may be cramped for you since there really isn’t much leg-room even for the smaller guests. Anyway, the ride certainly is far better than the original since it essentially kept most of the original ride in tact and just added movie screens throughout the attraction showing Donald and the two other Caballeros interacting with the culture in somewhat comical ways. While I love how they added the Three Caballeros since it really made the attraction far more entertaining for all age levels, I was honestly let down since I was expecting a bunch of excellent Disney antimatronics as usual, as opposed to movie screens.

Sure the attraction still isn’t world class, but with the update to the Gran Fiesta Tour it is certainly a far better attraction that won’t put the littler ones to sleep anymore. Still, it’s not the best Disney attraction out there, with my main complaint being the decision to use movie screens over animatronics since the movie screens just felt out of place in my opinion. Anyway, the Gran Fiesta Tour still is worth experiencing at least once since it never has a wait.
