Def a unique coaster and a must do if at all possible. This ride does pull long queues sometimes I don't think the capacity is the best but what a ride! One of only a few coasters worldwide with an air launch, the blast off is an absolute rush. The airtime hills and sweeping turns that follow are fast and furious and all too soon you hit the lift hill, who's primary purpose I believe is more to regain elevation than anything as there isn't much left after that, just another drop and small helix. It could be longer for sure but what it does it does well, and that is to put a big smile on your face.

This is my favorite ride over all, not just at sdc but at all parks. It proves that the coaster doesnt have to go upside down or be inverted or have a gimmick (wooden coaster) to be the best.

It may not be tall, it may not go up side down...but honestly how many rollercoasters do you know of where the track slides up and then blasts you 50+ mph in 2.6 seconds. The lights go from red to green and your stomach just leaves your body as you go up the hill as you view for miles of the ozark mountains, and back down for another drop and a great ride. The turns are very smooth also! I recommend this ride for the thrill seekers, not so much people who may get sick from too quick of a speed change. But Id put this on the top of your list if you go to Branson Missouri.

A very nice ride. It has a good smooth launch that will definitely take you by surprise. It is decently themed and fits in well with the rest of the park.

I rode it once and that's all I could handle. You shoot off very quickly and it's kind of painful. You don't feel very secure because there is just a bar that goes over you lap. It wasn't worth the wait but it is fun to watch people take off.

The launch at the begining of the ride is pretty intense. It offers some pretty good airtime considering its size. The hill and the helix toward the end of the ride are short but sweet.
A good addition to any family park.

Looking through the ratings, I noticed only two reviews on this ride so Ill try to give a decent amount of info. To begin with, greetings from Las Vegas where it currently sits at 116 degrees. I flew in from GA last night and slept about all day while my GF is off to work. As you know if you read my last review, we are headed out to Lagoon and some other areas this weekend to try to escape some of the heat. Now on to Powder Keg. Silver Dllar City created an interesting ride by combining the old water coaster with the new technology of a launched coaster. I was extremely pleased after I finished the ride as it contained minimal restraints, a great launch and some great airtime hills. The ride is also quite long if you count time in the train....the hydraulic system used to lift the car onto the track (or maybe slide it sideways is a better way to put it) in order to prepare it for the launch is the only such element I have seen on a coaster. There is a nice viewing area of the launch (mainly elderly people and young children....SDC is not exactly a thrill seekers destination) and the recording of the hick yelling "Watch out for that Nitrogylcerin!!!" really made me smile. Not for long though, because we evidently did NOT watch out for that Nitroglycerin and were launced out and over the first hill with a gorgeous view of the Ozarks. Its difficult for me to remember much of the rest of the ride. There were some laterals and a few hills then the train meets the lift hill in the middle of the ride which is another unique element. The part of the ride following this though is very short and it ends back at the well-themed loading station. We wanted to ride again but unfortunately the ops were only running one train. We waited about 45 minutes the first time for the front car and it was going to be about another hour or so for another ride as the line had grown back into the queing area so we skipped it. We were on limited time with Celebration City still to visit and then a three hour drive to our "point of origin". The trains were also being dispersed about every 5 minutes which is fairly long. So we went back and got another few rides on Wildfire, which was a walk-on, before leaving the park. I debated between and 8 and 9 for this ride since ratings are so high here. I do not want people to think that I hated it and gave it an 8. To me an 8 is a very good score and this ride reflects that. It is on par with Mystery Mine which I also gave an 8. If you get a chance, SDC is a great day of amusment park riding with this ride, Wildfire, the Giant Swing, and a fun "shoot-em up" water ride based on a flooded prison. And whatever you do, do not forget to add on the pass for Celebration City and ride the Ozark Wildcat which is by far the best ride in Branson. Thanks and good luck to all!!!

A very solid ride, but nothing spectacular. I probably would give it an 8.5 because it has some great airtime, and I always appreciated the fact when they take an existing ride and make it better, instead of demolishing it and then building something else. The launch is fun, but in comparison to others (Xcelerator, TTD) it isnt relentlessly powerful. The first hill gives some great airtime up front, and some of the following hills also give some great air. The line is one of the longest in the park but it is worth it for the most part. Unfortunately it isnt the best ride in Missouri, and not even the best at SDC.

This ride is not as bad as its made out to be. The launch goes straight out and up a small hill and then dives over the back side of the hill giving you crazy airtime. I couldnt breath all the way through the launch until I reached the bottom of the hill giving me the same feeling as a coaster with a nice drop. Once you get past the intial launch and drop the rest of the coaster is fairly boring and goes by fairly quick but the beginning makes it a coaster worth riding.
