I expected much more from this ride other than two great drops and a twist and dive element. When me and my folks were driving up the Strip the night we arrived at Vegas, we saw this and I wanted to ride it the next day. I did. It was quite interesting in the station. Since New York NY folks stuck with the New York theme, the station is practically a subway station. Theres a straight track some 203 feet up before dropping into a nice 75 foot drop. Another bigger drop follows, and theres a drop leading to the loop. But going through the dive loop was an experience. It has some hangtime before diving down. Its cool. The brake run follows, which takes away a lot of speed. The rest of the ride contains turns and drops with no airtime before heading through a tunnel leading to the station. Overall, this ride was above average. Everyone knows that not all big rides have to be good, and amen to that. This ride had slow dispatch, and also was rather pricy, but what do you expect? Its Vegas. If youre in Vegas, give this a try. If you dont like togo loopers, you wont like this.

Pardon the expression, but ME has its ups + downs. First the good: its heavily themed. The New York New York casino goes all out - the outside structure of the buildings does resemble a lot of NYC landmarks, and the cars are done up like taxis (and their ride is similar! ) It goes right by the Vegas strip, which is cool. It has some nicve elements, especially a swell loop/heartline combo. It rattles in a way that will probably make fans of wooden coasters like this steel one. But theres the bad: first, its pricey (though if youre going to LV, >everything< will be pricey, so youll have to deal. The drops feel a little shorter than they could have been. And the slowdown 2/3 of the way through is severe - it almost comes to a dead stop. Overall, not bad, worth a go if youre on the south end of the strip.

The Manhattan Express is really a massive coaster to behold as its taxi-themed trains careen all around the New York hotel and casino. Unfortunately, this is a Togo creation, so it has its faults. Two drops start this ride (the second one being the bigger of the two), then a vertical loop. The turns connecting these elements are somewhat banked yet for some reason still head-banging. Then there is the heartline roll, which is the best maneuver on this ride. I enjoy flipping and traveling upside down for a bit. However, we then reach the midcourse brakes and, though the ride is far from over, its pretty much done from there. We slow down so much that the train barely makes it over all of the bunny hops (and there are several of them). There is therefore zero airtime whatsoever. There are a couple turns and a spiral that also get executed at extremely slow speed. Unlike the normal horseshoe-collar over-the-shoulder restraints, this one uses OTSRs that ratchet down on you, so they sit right on your shoulders. You therefore not only bump your head back and forth, but you bang your shoulders up and down constantly as well. This is also the most expensive ride in Vegas (the most expensive stand-alone coaster Ive ever come across). Its hard for me to knock any coaster too much, and I dont mind a little roughness from a coaster, but it needs to be worth it. The first half of the ride was worth it, but the second half was not, so I wont be paying $12.50 to experience this one all that often.

I thought I revewed this ride but apparently I didnt. It was pretty good, I dont have to many complaints about it. There was no wait when I was there, which was a big plus. I thought it would be better after watching it for the first night I was there. Not the best ride in Vegas but Vegas does have some good rides. My only problem is that its a little rough and itt is also kinda pricey but when you are in that city what isnt?

This is probably the most expensive coaster in vegas $12! The first 200 ft hill looks scary but because of the slow swooping turn its really nothing. When I first saw the trains I was worried because it looked like a Togo ride. I was surprised how smooth the loops were but after the two loops you just slowly get lowered into the station. I got some airtime on the bunny hops though. The line was really big but it was nice to hit it without a line for a reride. This ride has moments of terrible headbanging, bringing this down a few points. While the loops were surprisingly smooth, the rest of the ride was not.

Manhatten Express is the best roller coaster at Las Vegas even better than Speed. It gives a great view especially at night. There was no wait, I got on the ride within a minute. I had a big suprise when you take a barrel roll and then a nose dive. It is a great ride and should not be ignored.

A decent coaster with an interesting layout and some unique elements, but it was incredibly bumpy and the restraints were a little uncomfortable.

This is a very nice ride. It combines a hypercoaster feel with inversions, as kowrip clearly stated. The price can be a little steep, and the wait may be a little long, but the ride overall is a ride a recommend. The best part of the ride is the half barrel roll into a half loop, that put some major g-forces on me. And the little blip overlooking the casino was a nice touch. I would recommend this to any coaster fanatic.

This ride deserves some credit for doing a few out-of-the-ordinary things. For one, it combines a hypercoaster with a looping coaster. Only Steel Phantom attempted this before ... and failed. Also, the twisting dive is a really cool inversion and no other coaster has one of these. However, there was little else to get excited about with this ride. Being a TOGO, it was rough and the restraints were uncomfortable, as expected. There was also nothing special about the first drop or the other hills. Finally, it cost a whopping $10 to go on. Personally, I thought Speed was a better deal at Sahara for $5. Manhattan Express does some interesting things, but overall, its not that great a rollercoaster.
