Hey, kids - we're planning a trip to Knoebels, weather permitting, on July 9th-10th. If anyone's looking to go then, and wants to meet up, let me know...

Nope - I have to wait until the 9th to get... FANDANGOED!!! I never made it onto the ride while we were there - our friends just weren't into it, and what with the rain and all, well, you get the idea. But I'm rarin' to check it out, that's for sure.

This is one of those parks I would love to visit. Have heard (and read here) tons of good things about Knoebels. Is there a campsite at the park? I have wanted to take a weekend trip to P.A. and various parks down there for quite a while. Perhaps later this summer.

Yup - check out their website - they have all sorts o information on their campsite, which is adjacent to the park. My husband and I will be tenting out that weekend - just praying it won't rain...

I can't make it, I have a big BBQ at my house on July 9th. I was actually going to invite you and Cyclonic being that you are both legal drinking age, but hadn't gotten around to sending the Evite yet.

Barbeque!!! I'd love to come, but we'll be bringing a couple of friends who've never seen the park, so we'll sort of be committed to showing them around the place. Thanks for the consideration, though - that would have been a blast!

Well next year you and your hubby will get the invite early. My BBQ is always the Saturday after Independence Day

What about white birch beer? I could bring tons of fireworks and our band could play too.

You know, I'm glad you mentioned that, FreeBird... after a lengthy, in-depth study (ie making the trip to the Catawissa Bottling Company, and purchasing two of each Big Ben's flavor - I know, I'm insane), I have officially found that, get this, I like the Blue Birch Beer better. Now, I know that the staff at the plant says there's no difference, but still - that Blue Birch rocks the house.

30 lbs of grilled spicy chicken, 10 lbs of grilled teriyaki chicken, 15 lbs of burgers, 8 lbs of hot dogs, 5lbs of cheese and parsley sausage, 3 lbs of kielbasi. That should be enough for the 80 people I expect

Cyclonic: If interested I sent an invite to your aol e-mail address

Yes, I've already responded I don't think I have any other plans, so I should be there.

Should I bring anything? I can always bring, well, more beer. I am partial to Yuengling myself

no need to bring anything unless you don't like keg beer

Exactly. They're HUGE history freaks, and are really excited to discover the park. Of course, me raving over and over about it hasn't hurt...

I think they'll be up for the majority - however, unfortunately, one of our friends is scared to death of haunted houses... I keep telling her how special this one is, and that it's often considered the best in the country - but that's just scaring her off even more...
