I will deffently have to say IOA.but there kind of alike in some ways. They both have icons(Light house and castle)both have a land with no rides (port of entry and main street)and they have alot of other things in common.Whats your opninon do you like flying on top of buildings with spiderman or do you like feeling the Disney magic?

Well, until I go to Disney at the end of this year, I can only tell you how good IOA is and hope that Disney is just as good or better. I think we are talking about 2 types of parks who are really BIG on Theming. I would prefer IOA now at my current age, but I may have enjoyed Disney better as a kid, but I still believe that IOA gives you the thrills at your age level and Disney gives you the feeling of being a kid again.

Yeah I can't pick IOA is so new a has some absolutely amazing rides. But MK still has the power even at the age of 32 to make me feel 7 again and you just can't rate that feeling. If I only had one day to live I would choose MK.

I've only been to Magic Kingdom. It was fun back when I was 10, but I think that IOA's a better park just b/c there's more thrills. I'm really looking forward to going to IOA just for Dueling Dragons & Incredible Hulk alone. I'll also experience Dr. Doom's Freefall, Spiderman the Ride, & many more.

Dueling Dragons-awesome great near misses-I only rode Ice, but everyone says Fire is better

Incredible Hulk-One of the greatest launches for a B & M and one of the most intense finishes out there.

Dr. Doom's Freefall-Not the tallest or most thrilling catapult tower ride, but gives great views of the park and surrounding areas.

Spiderman the Ride-Currently the greatest 4-D ever-really throws you into the action.

I havn't been to IOA yet. havn't maid it back to Florida in a while. But it depends on what youare looking for. IOA has many thrill rides and a few family rides. basicly one area if for kids while a few skatered rides and attractions can be experianced. Dissny's MAjic Kingdom is more family orianted and has many rides and attractions that can be experianced by kids as well as adults. there area few more adult rides but not pushing the hight limet.

Disneys rides and thrills are skatered through there 4 parks. Universal through all there eggs in one basket. but they might be a good thing.

Both are amazing parks, but IOA is better IMO. Disney always seems really crowded and stressful, while the entire Universal resort is very laid back. The rides at Universal are also more thrilling, and the park contains my favorite coaster, dark ride, flume, shoot-the-chutes, and river rapids ride.

Thats funny every one I talked to said the compleat oposite. they said IOA was the hectic one. also feelign too much like a normal amusmant park. they even heard many times in there trip "whell we're not Disney!"

I think both parks are some of the most crowded places on the planet. The area by ripsaw falls and the corner by spidey were unbelievably crowded when I was there.

Thanks for the newsbite. Epcot is also one of the most visited but the spacing is much better.

I agree completely with coaster05's assesment. MK will always have that more magical aspect for me although I love the rides at IoA.

Islands of Adventure is so much better. I love Magic Kingdom, and love taking visits there to ride the classic attractions, but nothing there matches up with anything found at IoA.

If it wasn't for the rides there Islands Of adventure would never be opened. Not to mantion to ride is an update of teh Dinosoure Ride system.

I've been to both in the past year. I feel IOA has amazing rides and great theming. MK is magical in that you fell like an excited young kid whenever you go there. However, both parks get exremely crowded. Especially at Marvel Island at IOA and Fantasy Land at MK (Stupid Strollers!). Anyway I would have to say that if I had to choose between one I would choose IOA BUT if i choose between a Disney World park hopper or a Universal Orlando park hopper I would definitly go with Disney. No question.

IOA kills the magic kingdom thats like saying a big strong guy fighting a little 6 year old kid in a fighting match.Hulk, spiderman dueling dragons, ripsaw falls,vs space mountain, hunted mansion, pirates, and splash mountain.Im pretty sure IOA is better in ride wise and theme park wise.

You'll have to explain how it can take it theme park wise. from what have heard only a few rides thave themed Queues and the atmasphere is verry much Amusment park.

Disneys rides arn't catered for thrill seakers at least not all of theme.

for starters perhaps Hulk shoudl be compared to RRC. remember disney spreads there atractions and the newer fancyer ones like IOA has are located in parks other then the majic kindom.

I'd chose disney any day. IOA was good, but it just didn't have that magical feeling that disney had.

It's a tough choice when the thrill seeker in you wants one and the child in you wants the other...

Wow perfect analysis. the only reason we compare them is because of geographic location. They really are nowhere close.

ok Hulk beats rocken roller coaster anyday, because its alot funner and better. Also I would rather feel that fast stomach droping feeling at IOA then the magical feeling at Disney.I dont want to feel 7 again,I want to feel like a thrill seeker thats not afraid to tackle rides like the Hulk and Docter dooms and dueling dragons.

Great for you. I still believe the two are so different there is no reason to compare them. MK does not even try for thrills.

Your right there is no reason to compare them because Islands of adventure is better.

Due to you beating a dead horse with your point I now feel like I must change my opinion to conform with the will of others. I typed this post like the lemming I am.

I don't say I like Islands of Adventure because I'll be associated with the people on the internet like you, who just bash Disney to be bashing Disney.

Disney and Universal both have their pros and cons. Disney hasn't built an all-around good ride since 1994, while Universal's customer service is sometimes comparible to that of Six Flags.

I always visit both Universal and WDW when I'm in Orlando. That way I get the best of what they all have to offer.

The theming at the Magic Kingdom is much better than the theming at IOA. In Seuss Landing, you can see outside the park. In Toon Lagoon, there is a random stadium and NO theming around that area. You can also see CityWalk from many areas of the park. Of course, I am being extremely picky, but at MK, every single area is incredibly themed, and you can never see outside the park.

It's weird how this discussion is always brought up. Both parks are fantastic and most other parks could definately learn from them.
