I miss this ride more then any other ride! This ride was amazing! Your sitting there in a suspended tram being attacked by Kong! What could be better??? :-)
Great design, brilliant animatronics, but the "operator" REALLY over-acted and squealed in a high pitched voice when Kong came into view.
It was truly an awesome ride. The theming was great, and the little falls in the tram car were excellent. Its a one of a kind ride, where else are you gonna face giant gorillas in a tram? I loved when the video played at the end disguised as a news report. Couldnt they have taken out Twister? Or Jaws? Or something...
I miss the big guy! Too bad Universal Orlando couldnt build The Mummy somewhere else.
I miss you already, Kong :-(. You left way too soon and Universal had NO BUSINESS replacing you when there was room elsewhere! Geez, my grafitti was all over the que line area from years of visits with a Shrpie in hand. Either way, the theming was great, the line wait was great because of the searching for my name from years past, and the ride itself was unique and exciting.
Great ride that can be summed up witrh just two words; Giant Gorilla.
Classic ride. Too bad its gone. This was one of my top ten for Universal Orlando. The queue was cool and the detail in the streets and shop windows was great! The animatronic was very realitic and the unique cars were awsome too.
I rarely give out 10s anymore, but this one deserved it. I had such an awesome time on this ride. No line whatsoever, theming was great in the line, and several parts were awesome. My fav effect was the helicopter flying there and shooting at Kong. I still dont know how they pulled that effect off. Also, the drops were great, and someone took a picture while riding... just as the camera for the news flash at the end of the ride started filming, so we saw the culprit and all got a good laugh. I will miss this ride, but Im sure Mummy will be just as good, but it will be hard to beat.
I loved this ride. It was the best thing at universal, and then beauty killed the beast. Oh wait... That was the Mummy killed the beast. Hopefully the Revenge of the mummy ride that replaced this will be even better, or Ill be angry that they took out a one of a kind dark ride with extreame detail and 2 very large animatronics for an indoor coaster.
A classic well-themed ride that will be missed. Those of you who never got to ride on it - you missed out.
