Ummm...I dont know what to say about this ride really. The ONLY good things is that King Kong looks so real (I thought the smell of banana breath was really cool) and that the subway theming and some city destruction look really authentic. Theres drops though in the ride? What drops? I dont remember any drops LOL Thats about it...
Kongfrontation is getting old and tired now. Kong is nowhere near as scary as he used to be and the ride is simply not advanced enough for todays needs. Should be highly updated or replaced.....
SOON
Great themeing. GREAT animatronics. However, the ride is too short and the drops leave something to be desired. Personnally, Id rather see them restructure the building with a coaster of some kind that faces the exisiting (and new) Kongs. Good family ride, kind of sad to see it on its way out.
Keep in mind that this ride is old i mean its ancient. This was one of the first rides at universal. Now Ill admit its not worth some of the lines that build up for it but if the line is short than go. The theming is just fantastic and leave it to universal to put you right in the middle of a scenario. The wait line is an Old tram station with lots of graffieti. All along the way are monitors that air phony t.v. ads and give you youre scenario. You are in NY and kong is on the rampage youre in the tram station because youre evacuating. Cool little news reports pop up to keep you posted on the apes path of doom. Once you board the tram and start the ride take note of all the detail! Peer into windows and see homes abandoned with working t.v. none the less. Look over the side of the tram and see giant footprints and wreked cars. Kong himself looks pretty impresive. Muscles move benaeth the skin! Kong does pick up the tram and drode it but its not much. Once again the enjoyment of the ride depends heavilly upon youre tram operator much like the skipper in Jaws. Some are cheesy some are good. The ride isnt very scary unluss youre a little kid or have a fear of heights. This ride is best for fans of the 1930s classic film and people with imagination. I know allot of D&D nuts who really liked the ride.
I wouldve given this a 1 but gave it a 3 because its spectacular technology for a old ride and not a terrible try. But it is boring. I didnt smell the leather monkeys banana breath, hell the way he picks you up makes you want to spit in the ride designers face. Its just so damn childish and stupid. Waste of time!(First ride I went on in Universal Studios)
When we rode this ride the line was extremely short and we got in the tram in about 10 minutes from walking through the entrance. It was not exactly scary (unless youre afraid of heights), but it was fun and a good way to cool off and rest your feet after walking in the hot Florida sun. All in all...its a classic, what else can be said?
Amusing but use your express pass on this one as this ride is not very long and the lines can be very long
Kong has improved over the years, but its probably time to retire the beast (as has been rumored).
I admit the ride is aged and has low excitement. However, there is some little campy charm that brings me back to ride it again. The main accomplishment on this ride though is the immersive theming. When you walk into the set, you walk into NY. Right down to the bannana smell, this ride is great for its detail to theme.
*EDIT* Goodbye Kong--- you were not the best ride, but youll be missed.
Real nice plastic Gorilla. What else could you ask for?
