Good and unique attraction. Its capacity is low, but the ride was fun. The spinning on this one was pretty fast and thanks to the wheel I was able to get some good whips on this one. Also, I got soaked thanks to the water mines that onlookers can set off. The cycle wasnt overly long though.
Im very surprised by the previous negative reviews about this ride. I thought it was one of the most unique and enjoyable attractions at Legoland. The best description I can give of the Wave Racers is that it is like a Whip flat ride on water. A bunch of the racers circle a central platform. One or two riders stand inside of each, kind of like riding a jet ski or standing in the hatch of a submarine. As the platform spins, you get carried round and round. However, there is a wheel at the very front that allows you to pivot your wave racer outward a bit. Its attached to the platform in the front, while the back is capable of swinging out. If you get it just right, it actually provides some very good whipping action. And then there are little water explosives set up all around for the onlookers to detonate and splash you. When all is said and done, this ones a winner.
Only exciting if you have someone in your group to splash you. While you go around in dizzying, but not terribly fast circles, have someone operate a button so the fountain comes up to sqiurt you and refresh you on a hot California day. Otherwise, dont ride.
This is a pretty boaring ride.
