Average log flume but all are good.
Good log flume in my opinion and I am shocked at how many negative reviews this has gotten. The rides setting is excellent as the ride weaves through the woods. Also, the ride is pretty long as well and has two drops, with the big one being just average at best, but I did get pretty wet from the splash and water cannons.
I give this ride a ten because I just love to get wet.Ive rode it once.I rode it when I was 14 years old.
The Shenandoah Log Flume was a great log flume at a wonderful park. Located to the right side of the park in the Old Virginia section of Paramount, the Shenandoah Log Flumes layout is concealed from view because of the dense woods that the ride travels through hides almost every part of the ride. With a long queue line, you can see the final drop while waiting in line. The final drop doesnt look tall, but its very fun. Also, you can see the first lift hill. I had a 25 minute wait for the Shenandoah Log Flume on a very hot day when Paramount wasnt too crowded. On a busier day, I could easily expect a long wait for the Shenandoah Log Flume because of its popularity, slow-moving line, and longer periods than Paramount should in between dispatch times. Shenandoah Log Flume has a nice wooden station. There is a dual loading platform to board the brown logs. Beginning the ride, you slowly wind towards the first lift hill. Its not that large and then you travel down a fun, speedy drop. I got a little wet. Then you wind through the woods for a while until you reach the second lift hill, larger than the first. The final drop isnt that large, but its pretty steep and is fun. At the bottom I got wet from the splash. However, I came off soaked because someone put money in the water cannons next to the ride and got me drenched. Overall, an excellent log flume that would be a great ride on a hot day. Any log flume lover shouldnt miss the Shenandoah Log Flume.
This is a classic in a great location but lets be serious: You barely get a splash. Its a nice long relaxing ride, but not my style. If they would only bring back my beloved Diamond Falls!
Wow this is pretty cool. Very relaxing water ride with nice waves everywhere and it lasts long. Feels like youre just flowing through a lake. Just fun to have waves all over you.
An average log flume that you dont get very wet on. The trees are nice scenery as you ride on the boat. I prefer more theming like "Wild Thornberrys it adds to the ride and you get excited seeing the scenery and unexpected things jump out at you.
A godsend on a hot, humid Virginia afternoon. This will not soak you though, it will get you damp. I am not an advocate of outright soaking at a theme park, so this is right up my alley. The drawback to the ride is that it isnt very exciting or interesting as it goes through its twists and turns, although I suppose not too many are. It does have a nice setting in the forest which adds to the experience, but not too much else is going on. A solid ride, however.
An OK log flume with nice forest setting and a cool drop.
Though this flume is in need of a remedial lecture on how to soak its riders, it was still fairly enjoyable. The ride moved at a brisk clip through the woods, which was better than the usual snore-induing pace of most old flumes. The setting was nice, surrounded by trees and such, but it was starting to deteriorate as you could already see where the park was building up around it, so the rustic woods setting may not last too long. The ride could have used another drop, or at least something to get you a little wet on, because I came off of this one bone dry, which is why I will settle with a 5 instead of a 6 or 7.
