The brakes were pretty jarring, but the turns had good snap and that drop really is something! Not a bad test for children's tolerance of coasters.
Nice mouse. Good drops, curves, and best of all no sudden stops.
Good wild mouse coaster. The first drop on this one was big for a mouse coaster and very zippy. While the hairpin turns werent the fastest, there werent any trims and the drops at the end were decent as well.
Ricochet is easily my favorite wild mouse coaster I have been on. Located towards the back right area of the park in the Grove section, Ricochet is a large Mack wild mouse. With a vibrant yellow paint job, Ricochet doesnt follow have the standard layout for newer wild mouse coasters. Instead, Ricochet sports a 50ft plunge at the beginning of the ride, much larger than any other drop on a wild mouse coaster I have experienced. Around the ride is little scenery and Ricochets track is painted in vibrant yellow paint with gray supports. Ricochet has 10 green and yellow cars each seating 4 people in 2 rows. The long queue line winds underneath Ricochets structure. Thankfully, Ricochet was a walk-on when I visited Paramount Kings Dominion. Even if you visited on a busy day, Ricochet should have a short wait because of its high capacity. Loading and dispatching quickly, you are restrained by a simple lap bar. My favorite row was the front because you could see the turns allowing for a better effect when rounding the hairpin turns and I got a pop of air-time during one of the bunny hops. Beginning the ride is a tight turn, followed by a very speedy lift hill like all Mack wild mouse coasters. At the top, you slowly roll towards the 50ft plunge. The 50ft plunge is quite an adreniline rush because its steep and the cars really gained some great speed at the bottom. Following that was a large hill with block brakes at the top, severely slowing the car down. Following that are a series of hairpin turns that coast along and provide a decent effect of falling off the edge, but not nearly as good as Hersheyparks Wild Mouse. Then you coast over a series of bunny hills that provide one or two brief pops of air-time for front seat riders. Overall, my favorite wild mouse coaster that would be an excellent family coaster. I recommend Ricochet to anyone who enjoys wild mouse coasters or are trying to build up their courage to bigger and scarier attractions at Paramount Kings Dominion. During the ride your picture is taken.
Wild mice are not animals that I find give a pleasant ride, in general and this one didnt do anything to change that. I found that the ride was rough in a bad way, the cars are not terribly comfortable, and the overall thrill factor is lacklustre at best.
Very dissapointing. First off, the first drop was good, and I couldnt believe that a Wild Mouse type coaster would go that fast. I could only imagine the side-pounding lateral Gs that I was going to experience. But then you get taken up another lift and into some WAY TOO STRONG block brakes. You get slowed down to near nothing ruining the laterals and all the fun that you should have had on the switch backs. What basically sums this ride up is I saw one car in which the two riders in the front of the car had their hands up for the WHOLE ride. I tried to do that on Road Runners Express down at SFKK and my arms were abruptly shot down on the fist turn! Plus, the switch-backs didnt even provide the "going over the edge" feeling that usually scares the crap out of me on Wild Mice. Overall, if it werent for the first drop, this ride is simply a waste of your time.
The second best mouse Ive been on, but not even close to the best. Actually, if it werent for the first drop, the coaster would have been quite boring. The drop is very steep and a lot of fun, but the turns on the mouse coaster arent taken fast enough. Still, its a fun little ride if you have time, but its nothing great.
Very clean looking coaster with not much scenery around it. Very unique layout that seems to be longer in duration than most mouse coasters. I really enjoyed the tight turns at the top and I also liked the hills. It gives good airtime also. It needs less braking and less jerkieness IMO.
A fun wild mouse with a good drop.
Fun little ride Id only get on if a partner wants to. You get a nice view from up here and I was looking around quite a bit since obviously, theres nothing thrilling at all besides the one drop. Cool little hairpin turns. Fun kiddy ride.
