What an improvement!! Even though the lap bars arent ones I had hoped for they were still 100 times better than the horsecollar restraints. It was still quite bumpy and it usually has a long line.

Flight of Fear is easily the best looping coaster in Ohio and the theming totally adds to the experience and I think this is the ride all other parks look to when theming their coasters as this definitely set a standard with its fascinating video and effects and the launched dark ride enviroment and atmposphere. The ride is even better now that there are no over the shoulder restraints and its the best steel coaster in the park.

I rode this in 1999, and like most people that rode it with OTSRs, hated every second of it. I just rode it again, and loved it! The lap bars did wonders for this ride. I prefer Rock n Roller Coaster over this, but its still very good. Where Rock n Rollercoaster loses steam after the 2nd brake run and ends that way, Flight of Fear picks up with the intensity towards the end for one really intense finale.
This is now one of PKIs main attractions.

This ride used to be sooo bad and I would need a lot of Tylenol for all the headbanging it caused, but now its a lot better and it seems to go faster now. I hope the park keeps it the same, but they need to turn to lights down a lot more. I really like the theming and pre-shows inside and the powerful launch and flashing lights from the photos are so cool. I hope PKI gets some more big steel coasters like this in the future, so they can compete with the best wooden coasters they already have im the park. This has definitely become a hit and taken even more line down from SOB and The Beast.

Loved the original, so what can there not be to like about the ride once the nasty over-the-shoulder restraints are removed?! Nothing! The ride is even more intense and forceful now with Paramounts Kings Island being able to run the trains at full speed through the entire layout and midcourse brakes. This makes the ride end with an insane twisted helix design and a corkscrew thats as close to the out-of-control feeling of a B&M zero-G roll that Ive ever experienced. The launch is perfectly haunting with the flashes of light for the cameras, noises throughout the course, and a great pre-show production for Flight of Fear. Paramount has been able to turn a once infamous headbanging ride into one of the best steel loopers in the entire world. Almost perfect, but the waits could be a lot better than they currently are. Otherwise, the star steel coaster at Kings Island and a great match-up to the wood ride that Son of Beast delivers for an outstanding one-two punch. But of course, with The Beast and Face/Off or Vortex, its really a quadruple punch and the park is really beginning to shine!

I liked this ride alot and it is better now that they have lapbars on it. My only complaints are it is too slow throughout the ride. The launch is great but then I can feel the ride slowing down. The lights and visual effects are great and I love the themeing. The ride is much smoother since the improvements, Overall this is a good ride and worth a wait of no more than 2 hrs.

Fun ride and the first looping coaster I ever tried. Great speeds, but the launch was HORRID (especially now that Ive ridden DISNEYs Rockin-Roller-Coaster). Key word WAS HORRID! The new lap bars make the ride 10x better and much smoother. Still packs the same punch as before, but now without knocking the riders out along the way. UPDATE: The 1st update was per my fiancees ride, that ride was much better and less painful ... but I didnt change the rating since I hadnt ridden the new version yet ... HOWEVER, now that I have Im giving it a full 10!!!! This ride is just incredible, and just when youthink its let up for good it gives you onelast kick. I cannot believe just how charged I felt after riding this revamped version. THE BEST STEEL COASTER (note, keyword STEEL) in the park!!!! And one of the best in Ohio.

Im torn on how to rate this. I rode it when it had the OTSR and hated every second of it, a rating of one. I then rode the PKD version with lap bars. It was great! Since theyre the same, I decided to give this one the benefit of the doubt and give it the same score as PKDs.

Great fun, lots of twists and turns, could be a bit longer, but it prbably seems that way becase it has no lift hill.

This is very likely to be one of the best indoor launhced coasters around. Nowadays, it is a whole lot smoother, almost "B&M-ine". They also changed the restraint confguration so it is more comfortable. No OSTRs, but what they do have is a padded lap bar/"ankle bar" combo.
