The theming is very good, but the ride itself disappointed a bit. Most of the elements were weak and there were neither enough of them nor enough variety. The length was OK but not extraordinary. Not a bad ride to attempt to cool off on a hot day.
You'.re certainly gonna get wet on this, either fairly wet or I-went-swimming-in-my-clothes soaked. RR is ok on length, moves along speedily enough, and does spin a lot. There are no drops worth mentioning. Instead, the finale to this one is a series of waterfalls coming over the edge of a wall. with the raft'.s rotation, you'.re pretty much guarenteed to go through all of them, and whoever ends up spinning directly into the falls will be wringing out their underpants that night.
this was a so so Rapids ride. It was helped by its close proximity to Apollo'.s Chariot, and its great theming. it was also quite rough on some of the turns
Roman Rapids is okay, but I'.ve been on much better.
I like the theming and the fact that you go right under Apollo'.s Chariot, but thats about it.
Roman Rapids is really rough also because you slam into the walls everytime you turn.
Roman Rapids was a really disappointing rapids ride. This is one of the few rides that actually made me craving for more at any Busch park. Now I will say that the ride is landscaped very well and that definitely is the rides strong point. As for the ride, it is pretty weak thanks to the lack of elements. There arent many rapids during the ride and the ones that are on the ride, are very weak and leave everyone dry. The only thing that is a potential soaker are the waterfalls at the end. If you are directly underneath them, you will get completely soaked. I have only had this happen on about half of my rides, which is disappointing because there are no other elements that are capable of getting anyone wet. If the lines short go for it, but Id recommend Pompeii over this anyday.
It was mostly mediocre, but it had its high points. The lines moved very quickly and even on a hot day I didnt wait more than 20 minutes. The ride was landscaped very well, but most of the ride was very dull and uneventful as there were almost no rapids, and the rapids that were there were very weak. The only positive was the soaking waterfall finale at the end that gets a few lucky riders soaked.
Nice theming but too many problems. You will definitely get wet. HORRIBLY OPERATED. Only like two rafts are used at a time and the wait is forever.
Fun rapid ride with top notch themeing that I would normally give a seven, but it gets a five because BGE doesnt know how to operate it. They always have to stop the turntable, and the line never moves. Half of the time they only have 2-3 rafts running. I feel sorry that a ride like this is in a first class park like Busch Gardens.
To me the thrill of a raft ride is not knowing if you will get drenched or not. Roman Rapids succeeds in this area. Someone in you raft, but not necessarily everyone, will get wet.
However, if spectators are manning the water cannons there is a good chance that everyone will get wet. My only complaints are the capacity due to smaller rafts and extremely slow loading. They regulary stop the turntable to load and unload.
By far the worst water ride in the park. It does have nice theming and you will get wet but they just dont know how to operate it well enough. They had one raft going through the turntable at a time meaning it was way over an hour wait.
