A solid inverted coaster with an excellent theme. It seemed really short though, mainly because of the fast pace kept throughout the ride. The first drop is intense, though it doesnt give you any airtime due to its curved shape. The ride featured many great foot choppers and intense elements. I thought that the ride went through the cobra roll a little bit too fast, causing some headbanging which brings the ride down some.
A close second to Apollos Chariot a great thrill
This was my second favorite ride out all the rides I went on this past vacation (This includes rides at Astroland, Carowinds, Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens, my number one ride being Flight of Fear) I was scared at first, thinking about how it is the tallest invert in the U.S...to hit things the whole time.
This is just a great ride. I love the layout- its different from other inverted coasters which makes it very special. The theme is perfect to say the least. From the lodge feeling of the station to the skis bolted onto the trains, the theme is not too strong but then again not too weak. The ride itself is very aggressive and fast but at the same time very smooth. I still cant get over how fast it takes the cobra roll and later half of the course. Overall, this is a must ride while at BGW.
Not only does this coaster have great themeing, but also incredible height and speed. The twisting first drop doesnt offer any air but an incredible view and youll feel as if youre goign to fly into the French themed area of the park. Then, the forces are so strong at the bottom of the immelman that as you come out, you may gray-out. Then, theres an intense loop followed by a fast cobra roll that whips around. Before you know, its twisting in to the midcourse and diving into a zero-g roll. Next, it crawls through a corkscrew and encounters a small helix before turning into the breaks. An incredible rush from start to finish.
Best inverted coaster...EVER! It is so fast you dont even know what hit you. Excellent themeing. (the first coaster Ive been on with a storyline). It is extremely tall and has an uncountable number of inversions.
My favorite inverted coaster anywhere. All of the inversions are smooth, and the cobra roll, while mediocre on other coasters, was great on this. This coaster introduced me to a new favorite element (Immelman) and included the inversion its tied with (Zero G roll). Overall, the coaster is fast, smooth, fun, and a must ride. Havent had so much fun on an inverted coaster..ever. Ill never be able to ride an SLC again.
My second inverted coaster. The swirling drop was very intense but didnt take your stomach away. So I took away one point. It was very smooth and very comfortable. All the inversions were great and made me have that good dizzying feeling.
Overall a great ride. 9
This is a neat ride! This was my second inverted coaster. I like all the twist and turns and all the other crap. I like this ride!
Alpengeist is, hands down, the greatest inverted roller coaster to date. Ive only ridden a handful, but Alpengeist beats all of them by a lot! The theming is great in the station and the veiw from the top of the 195 ft lift hill is breathtaking! All of the inversions are spectacular, especially the cobra roll over the Rhine River. Overall, Alpengeist is my third favorite roller coaster and my #1 inverted coaster on Earth!
