The twisted track of Superman: Ultimate Flight intimidates you from the parking lot and continues that trend while you wait in line. I noticed that all first-time riders (including myself) were saying, “It seems pretty short.” Well, sadly it is short which makes me wonder sometimes why the ride’s capacity is very slow. Theoretically a train should be in and out of the station in 3 minutes or so, which plays a major factor that I’ll discuss later on in the review. But before that time comes, you must prepare for the “ultimate” flight. Resting in the flying position for the first time is fun simply because it is a unique sensation. As you climb up the hill you could look down below or at the feet of other riders in front of you (unless you manage to wait for the front seat). Then you swoop down to the ground and realize that flying is a fun experience. Next you must face the mother of all inversions – the pretzel loop. At the lowest point of the loop the G’s are too high to describe. Someone once said that it feels as if an elephant is sitting on you. Although it’s a bit of an exaggeration, you get the point. After recovering from your encounter with the pretzel loop, some swooping turns send you back in the direction of the lift hill. They’re highly banked so that you do feel as if you are flying, but the views you get while flying are nothing to brag about. One swoop sends you looking at the parking lot, the next sends you looking at the large queue canopy. After admiring these views, you flip around on the in-line twist, hit the brake run, and wait for the other station to depart. Now here is where the capacity problems play a major role. While waiting for the train in front of you to depart, you still wait in the flying position. Your stomach unsettles and you wonder how long it will take for its contents to just pop out. I wish there was some way to fix that problem. Overall, Superman: Ultimate Flight is fun to ride only once because after your first ride the experience is no longer unique and the ride is boring – except for the first drop and pretzel loop. It’s also worth re-riding if you wait for the front seat. In the words of the train operator, “Sit on down and grab on tight. Get ready for Superman: Ultimate Flight.”

Its more like Superman: Ultimate Bore. That first loop felt cool and unnatural. After that, Im like, "Okay, when is this ride going to get cool again?" You coast around at what feels like 5 mph, a twist here, a turn there, you check your watch, wake up the guy next to you, and then its done. This thing may be worth it if the wait is no longer than 15 minutes and you have the lowest possible expectations. Personally, this is one of the least-entertaining coasters in the park. Only Runaway Train and Skull Mountain are worse. Blecch! Avoid like the plague.

I had never ridden this kind of coaster before... it was quite fun. You load sitting down, then it lifts you and leans you forward so youre facing the ground. The coaster is not super-huge or super fast, but its decent in those respects. The swooping effect is nice, and the first loop is terrific! I timed - usually it takes ~2 minutes to unload. We were left hanging at the end for 5 minutes - I think a disabled person needed a little extra time to load on the train ahead of us. But that brings up: its not nice to try to sneak into the row reserved for the Q-bot riders or do other things that delay loading. Hanging nearly upside down on a hot day leads to a bit of a headrush. On the whole though, a fine ride.

I enjoyed this coaster more than I expected. The loop was absolutely wild. The restraints were remarkably comfortable. The only detractors on this ride for me were the VERY slow loading times and the relatively short ride. The only amusement I got in line other than listening to 2 kids behind me plot how to cut ahead, was people freaking out because a poor baby skunk was lost in the grass alongside the cue and was running back and forth trying to find a way out.

i was in the first row left seat and it was horrible. this ride was so slow. i came off with the blood at my head. It seemed like they kept us upside down forever on the pretzel loop. everyone came off with red eyes because of this. good thing i had a q-bot

Superman:Ultimate Flight is not a great coaster - its more of a "cool experience" type of ride. Definitely worth riding once but after that its not worth riding with its frequent long lines. The flying sensation is awesome and when you first go into that position it is a lot of fun. The pretzel loops is an incredibly intense inversion and is the highlight of the ride. The layout is too boring though and the ride isnt very long at all. The bottom line is that its worth riding if youve never done it before because youll find the flying idea new and cool. However, theres now way it ranks among the worlds best coasters.

They couldve made this ride insane! The flying feeling is incredible, and the pretzel loop is out of this world. Its too bad u do a few turns and thats like the whole ride tho. There is also way to much wait time. It takes forever to load the riders on plus the fact it breaks down every half hour it seems. Thats how cool the flying feeling is that i would still give it an 8 after all that

I was suprised to see it rated so low. Well, I gave "my" Superman a 9 after the novelty has worn thin a bit recently, so I figured a 7 for Great Adventures is suitable. Why? I still enjoy the ride, but part of the fun that I had become accustomed to was swooping over the queue and narrowly missing the covers, diving near the ground and the helix in the gravel pit. What did Great Adventure do? Built it in a parking lot and didnt do any sort of terraforming, so the helix is 20 feet in the air and the same, great sensations dont exist for it I also am taking off a point for the lack of originality, not just because its a clone but with the poor location as well. I kinda want to give it an 8 instead (and still may, that pretzel loop still kicks) but will settle with a 7 for now.

OK but I like Vekoma flyers better. This rides loading time is horrendous.
