It was definitely one of the best coasters I have ever been on. It near closing time , so I was able to ride it twice. the under water tunnel was very cool, although very brief as well. One of the only downsides about it is that it moves your head from side to side, but you come across that in most coasters. It was so good it was one of the reasons why i got 2010 season tickets after my first time there in 5 years.
Anaconda was a huge Arrow looper. The first drop was gigantic and was pretty fast. Then came the unique underwater tunnel followed by a great and smooth vertical loop, and then a smooth sidewinder element. Next came the brakes and the ride went downhill. The second half was very slow and there was quite a bit of headbanging, especially during the helixes, but the double corkscrews werent overly rough.
It was okay I guess It had a loop that adds a improvment I rode it when I was six.I had a blast it goes so fast and its so fun.
Anaconda is an appropriate name for this Arrow mega looper. Like a snake, it is visually appealing and ferocious, but slithers along relatively slowly. Typically, Anaconda has no wait whatsoever as it is often overshadowed by the other coasters that the park has to offer. The first drop is very large, but because it is curved rather than a straight drop, it is missing the trademark burst of air I look forward to from Arrow coasters. Anaconda makes up for it though with a very cool, but brief, underwater tunnel and then rockets through a very forceful vertical loop. Then the train goes through a forceless but smooth sidewinder. While the second half utilizes the lake setting very well, it is really slow and the helix has some rough transitions in it. The final corkscrews are painstakingly slow, but at least they are smooth. Anaconda may not have the star power of some of the other coasters at Kings Dominion, but its a nice compliment.
The first part of this ride is pretty good with a decent sized lift hill and the very cool underwater tunnel. However, the last half of the ride is so boring, I can barely remember it. This adds up to an average coaster.
Anny is an average ride. Thats about all there is to it. It has a fun old chain lift towards the edge of the park and you can either look to the right and see beautiful Kings Dominion layed out before you, or look to the left and see some farms or whatever else is over there in rural Virginia.
Anny is deffinitely unique: a great setting and queue line. I find that the underwater tunnel doesnt really do much for me. The inversions arent too good(I find the sidewinder is a bit more fun than the loop), and neither are the turns after the MCBR. The MCBR is way too strong and is my biggest complaint of the ride. The best part though is the slow double corkscrew at the end. You get shifted around in your seat and it creates the illusion that your going to fall into lake Charles.
edit-Anaconda IS very reridable, but there is a very rough part in it. The "headchopper" area after the first turn after the MCBR is pretty bad. I still rode it 4 times in a row at night on Saturday, but I was a bit dissapointed in the headchopper: it looks like a great element. And I actually DID get a little splash once believe it or not.
A beautiful location and a great first half are the only saving graces on this ride. Anaconda starts off very promising. The first drop is amazing, especailly since it drops into a great underwater tunnel. The first two inversions after this are also a lot of fun and are very high up. After this, however, a midcourse break kills the remainder of the ride. The ride stops almost completely here and then drags on through the rest of the course. The corkscrews benefit from this, but the turns before do not. Had the finale been faster, the ride would have been awesome, but sadly its not that thrilling.
Nice setting for a good looper. lots of inversions and turns. The first drop is not very exciting. The ride operation is always fast.
This is a great looper. I love the underwater tunnel and how they make it look like the train is literally going underwater. the loops are fun too but i have to take a point off because towars the end where all of the twisty parts are, it gets pretty darn rough.
The ride itself I give a 9. The theme and atmosphere is great with the entire ride taking place over a lake and the nice underwater tunnel splash affect which always gets people excited who havent rode it. Full of many turns and 2 final loops that will surely bring you out of your seat. But I give it a 10 overall since the line always moves very quick and takes practically 10-15 minutes to get from the entrance to the queue line. Makes me get on again and again.
