What do you think of the Six Flags advertising thus far in the first "real" year of the Shapiro era?

I think it is right on. It is exceeding everything that I thought that they should have done, and.... I was right, they are advertising to everyone (teens/thrillseekers, families, parents, children). Whether it be on radio, television or whatever else I have seen, they are doing a variety of ads that attract a variety of people. I say excellent job

They are advertising very well and definitely are attracting people, but I still am a bit sad as I personally like Mr. Six, their joyful, dancing mascot. He just never got old.

Anyone have a Youtube link to their commercials?

Haven't seen one commercial or radio ad (obviously, since I live in a SF-free state).

That will give you a good idea of one of their generic spots.

Haha, I didn't like him, I remember my mom would always change the channel (if it was on TV) she really didn't like him for some reason.

This is another commercial that multiple Six Flags parks are using.

I don't live in a Six Flags state, but the commercials for Six Flags Over Georgia are on all the time.

The SFOG is the same as the SFFT commercial.

I think there exiting but They just don't site right with me too many rides not at most of the parks. like the observation Tower and the Excalibur Flat ride.

i had been hoping that with the extra money they were going to spend they would have had filming done at the park to better represent the as it is. SFNE commercials have a Flying Coaster in them, scream, among other things.

I don't live in a Six Flags state but I live within the area of a Six Flags.

I like at the end of the previous commercials mentioned how the Great Adventure ads are custom, as I'm sure all of them are. The coasters that are coming at you in the end are Kingda Ka and El Toro which is kind of neat.

I love how the screams for the people they use are always the same and are the ones from RCT2

Many people use those screams. I guess they are the generic screams right now.

The current TV commercial for Great Adventure is pretty odd but interesting. It's actually a cartoon (almost looks like it was made in Flash or something) with this cartoon voice narrating and they talk about the Coke can offer.

There's also a radio jingle with the same voice where they mention the Thursday concerts.

It's definitely something different, not something I was expecting from SF (I like them though). I couldn't find a video or sound clip from either commercial though, sorry.

I've flipped on the TV several times thinking that I was watching a commercial for SFMM, only to discover it was really an episode of "The Shield." I hate it when that happens.

Some one had posted that on one of the sites i use. I thought it was a mock commercial. can't believe they are using that.

I always get the one where the kids are walking down the street and then rides start popping out from the ground.

The one they are always showing around here is a bunch of Responses from reviews. hen they show rides and shots from other SFI parks and a Flyover form SFNE 2-3 years ago.

I wonder why Six Flags New England hasn't updated the flyover in that commercial.

I don't know there cheap Bastards that rather get more Commercials on TV then to Property represent the park as it really is.

Exactly I mean how much has really changed in the last 3 years at that park. I mean would anyone really notice, especially GP wise.

SF bashing just never seems to get old.

No it doesn't.

Actually at SFNE that Fly over woudl look very deferent. No Ferris wheel, Flying swings moved, many trees removed. the 2 kiddie areas, and an actually painted Cyclone.

My goodness then MRC you shaould write Shapiro and inform him of the error of his ways. Missing trees and fresh paint, those would be so noticeable. Those changes would also DEFINATELY be worth the cost of refilming that entire segament since we all know SF has so much money to burn.

Bottom line the SF thing has been beat to death in the last 5+ years. We have all heard every excuse on why they suck and I get tired of reading the same things. Can you honestly tell me that reshooting there flyover is really a top priority.

The paint and trees are small things ye. I was more referring to the removal of high profile rides. in that show especially The ferris wheel. They are spending what and extra 40 million then last year on advertising. they can use some of that to construct Commercials that properly represent the park. Scream is not a ride at SFNE now is it. Many of the shots are not SFNE. They can't spend small portion of that to film at the parks. Smaller parks can do it why not SFI. if they don't have the money to film proper commercials maybe they shouldn't be spending money to show a commercial 4-6 time a hour on multiple stations.

On the Q-Bot video that they make you watch at Great Adventure they show a flyover film shot of Rolling Thunder, only they call it "El Toro". Pretty hilarious.

Who really cares about their advertising anyway? I'm not a stock holder or anything. But I think Shapiro is doing a pretty good job considering what he has to work with. Give him 5 years and they might be making CF look like a complete and total joke.

Dear Mr. Shapiro,

Although your company is bleeding money and the stock dropped 20% the other day I have the answer to your porblems. Please refilm the flyover of SFNE for inclusion in your commercials. This is the surest way to turn the company around.

sincerely,

Hey Mrc where was a mention of Scream in your orginal post. I live in Indiana so I don't get a lot of SF commercials in my area. Now that you broguht it up I am also getting pissed at McDoanalds, Foot Locker, JCPenny and other NATIONAL chains because when they show commercials in my area they never show the exact same locations as in South Bend. I mean Broadway is not in South Bend is it.

You have good knowledge of parks, however your business sense sucks, always has, always will. I have been to Canobie and the SFNE and The Great Escape and the SF parks smash Canaobie on all levels, IMO.

For the guy about catching CF, SF doesn't have to do anything if they wait long enough CF will come back to them. Course IMO they are already above CF, just not Cedar Point.
