Out of all of the parks you've been to, which one would you think was the ugliest looking park you've ever seen? I haven't really been to a lot of amusement parks, but out of the ones I have went to, William's Grove's without a doubt the ugliest looking park I've ever seen. I know that the whole park's a picnic grove & all, but when it's wet & rainy, I'd rather walk across pathways than to go through muddy grass & fields. Also, a lot of the rides (Cyclone, Dante's Inferno, Bumper Cars) look like they can just collapse at any minute. I know that the park's closed down for good, but it definitely wasn't the best looking park I've ever visited.

I think Trimpers in Ocean City MD is my ugliest park so far, with SFA not too far behind. However, Trimpers being ugly is excusable because it's a fair (not really a park) and does a good job with fitting in tons of rides in not too many acres.

^trimper's is very beautiful, imo. it is garish in exactly the way it should be.

SFA on the other hand i can agree with. there is no love in the layout or upkeep of the place. i would almost rather see a parking lot under a coaster than the ugly mess of weeds and mud under the supermanROS.

I think if you squint and tilt your head just right, SFA can actually look okay. Sure there is hardly any themeing or landscaping, but it does have some okay points.

It's kind of neat how all of their coasters seem all crammed together. You get lots of good views of them from basically anywhere in the park. It is rediculous how close they seem yet how long you have to walk to get to them. ROAR is a beautiful looking coaster (allthough in a horrible location) even though I don't think it rides well. The redone water park looks real good.

Other than that SFA is ugly though.

Quassy is the ugliest park I've been to. Last time I was there it looked like a dime hadn't been spent on the park in decades. That was several years ago, so maybe things have improved, but somehow I doubt it.

How long has it been since you have been there. outside of the coasters they have put allot of work into the park over the last two years or so.

For me it's also a dated statement York's wild Kingdom was in terrible shape when i went. but this last year they repainted all the rides and worked on a number of the buildings.

Enchanted Forest in Hope, Rhode Island was the worst park I had ever been to and it was hideous when I went. Their storybook section's characters were covered in dirt and dated, their coaster could have needed a new coat of paint, their flats looked dated, and many of their golf course's holes were dirty.

Perhaps that's why they are now gone.

I was there closer to five years ago. Good to hear they're doing a better job. Now if they's only add a ride or two...

Luckily I have been spoiled by great looking parks. Of the ones I have been to I'd have to say Carowinds is the "ugliest" with Cedar Point behind that.

I too have been spoiled in this regard, and I try to see the beauty in just about any park that I go to. That being said, SFMM had some rather ugly parts, so I guess that will be my pick here.

SFA is awful, but Visionland is like a Cedar Fair park to the extreme! God I hate that place.

I'd have to say Knoebels. I know it's supposed to have more of that old school amusement park feel, but it's def. not what I'd call pristine. The bathrooms really left something to be desired and the random 'residences' sitting in the park looked shabby and out of place. Or at least that's what it looked like in 2003.

I just re-visited SFA yesterday and that park is definitely missing something. It's more a lack of beauty than glaring ugliness and the layout is pretty bad. I wish they could start over and re-place everything.

Six Flags America is just gross, but I think that the transformation that Dorney has gone through of the last decade gives it a little bit of consideration for this argument. And has anyone ever seen the boardwalk area at Rye Playland? Or does that not count since it isn't the park itself?

I stongly disagree with your opinion and find Knoebels a very nice-looking park, but if that's your opinion.

They added to the water park last This year and there are apparently plans to add some flats. but no word on what they would be adding.

I vote for the Steel Pier. First, it's a steel pier, it uglifies the boardwalk, and second, it has carnival games complete with carnival barkers. The only reason to set foot on it is if you've never ridden a spinning mouse before, which I hadn't, so I did. Oh, the price is ridiculous, but the price of anything in Atlantic City is ridiculous. This was supposedly the park's last year, so I don't know what I'm going to pick for ugliest next year

Now if I can defend Knoebels for a few minutes... First, I wasn't riding in 2003, but the bathrooms are mostly pretty clean now, in fact some of them look brand new. (Oddly, the most decrepit one I've been in was right outside the office.) The worst thing I can say about them is that they're not heated, but this is only a problem in the off-season, which Knoebels doesn't have much of. The other thing that bugs me is seeing people complaining about Knoebels having no layout and few paved paths. This is true, but I'll take that over someplace like Hersheypark that isn't laid out anymore rectilinearly yet has rigidly-defined paths that seem to actually prevent you from getting where you want to go in a hurry!

I think that KBF is really ugly.

USO and USH are nicely themed, but have no trees.

I think the Western part of KBF is wonderfully done, but the rest of the park is another story.

I'm not a fan of the Knoebels restrooms at all, but the overall appearance is part of the charm to many.

But if you want real ugly - try Beech Bend

I've heard a lot of negatives about Beech Bend and their lack of theming. Is the park dirty?

Why would these have trees? They are movie studios, not themed to be something like Busch Gardens Africa or something.

Maybe Scooter couldn't handle the Florida (or California) sun (although we all know the Florida sun owns).

I tend to think USO looks great the way it does now.

The water park doesn't count, and if they add any more flats they won't be anything worth the drive to Waterbury, if their track record is any indication.

Palace Playland's bathrooms are also very bad. They were very dirty when I went last time. Also, there was a good amount of garbage around the park and near the park.

I havent been to any ugly parks, but Fantazy Land in Egypt is by far the worst I've seen. Check out the pictures at Theme Park Review.com.

(and yes, "Fantazy" is, in fact, spelled with a "Z")

Kings Dominion is the ugliest park I've been to, at least in my eyes. I can't even go there anymore without being completely disgusted by something and leaving early
