A story about Hershey, PA

It doesn't fit nicely into any of our forums, but I thought any history buffs who loves amusement parks might also enjoy. I remember reading this in the magazine last year but only just came across it online.

FYI - As a history buff, I love American Heritage magazine

heloo folks.
i caught just a small part of this on the radio earlier today. this guy just published a book about milton hershey.

now i realize that there are numerous republicans who frequent this site, and i warn you...THIS INTERVIEW WAS ON NPR. yes, the liberal media. that said, if you think you can swallow your conservative disdain for NPR to hear the lizard-voiced diane rehm interview hershey's biographer on some interesting hershey history topics...proceed to archived stream of the interview.

Cool links, you guys. And folks, should you take the kamikaze dive into traver's link to the Diane Rehm show, the Hershey broadcast is listed on the left side, January 26th. Have fun!

Off Tops - The only time I ever had trouble with NPR is on the softball field. My team was scrimmaging in Central Park and we started a pick-up game with some stragglers. After the game they asked me to play on their NPR team in another league. I went to one game but was turned off by the ultra laid back attitude and bongo drum playing on the bench.

Co-ed Softball is meant to be taken seriously, that's why we keep score!

At least their jerseys were not made from hemp.

while i may qualify as a liberal person, i prefer to keep a wide girth between myself and the nearest drum circle.

Larry your quote about keeping score sounds like my dad. He used to say, even when I was little, if the game is just for fun why do they keep score.
