I figured this would be fun. I found this out there in the wonderful world of the internet. I have come across a lot of people that have thought that I was nuts saying how crappy Great Adventure was, after them making their first trip to the park this year. Also, my girlfriend thinks I'm crazy since I say how much better it has gotten. She just doesn't believe me. Well, here are before and after pictures showing Great Adventure. It goes from the Great Adventure that we all used to know and love (errrrr, really really hate) to the new age Great Adventure that we see now.

Before and after

Keep in mind, some of the before pictures are a recent as last year.

No luck, even with the pop-up blocker disabled. Clicking on the photos, but no result. Interested in seeing the "afters" - any advice?

Not a bad colection but some of those pics were unfare. you can't be comparing a fall shot to a spring shot of course they will look better. but I will agree SFGAdv did allot of good work on the park on the off season.

Wow, they have made a lot of improvements. Mrceagle is right, some of the pictures are exactly the same except for the leaves on the trees, and actually, there were a couple pictures where I prefered the 'Before' to the 'After'.

Right, some were unfair. I noticed that too, but, it looked just as dismal in the summer as it did in the fall, believe me.

Yes they did remove trees to build the Golden Kingdom and Kingda Ka, but it wasn't as much as what the picture tells. It seems like a lot more than what were taken out. Bugs Bunny Land died a greater death then the amount of trees were taken out. Don't worry though, the park is not a family park and based around shade and trees. It didn't take that much away from the park which I know that is what you were thinking of there mrceagle. The only thing that the loss of trees took away was oxygen.

They added a whole lot more trees and other vegetation then they took out. There are tree, plants, and grass all around Ka where there was once nothing but parking lot. I think I'll take that trade.

Does SFGAdv have any great coasters besides Kingda Ka? I was just wondering if they built Kingda Ka to get some publicity and make some money or if they were still a good park before KK.

Ah, yes...

-Nitro, B&M hyper
-Medusa. B&M floorless
-Batman & Robin: The Chiller
-Batman: The Ride I imagine is a real hit with the general public.

-Superman Ultimate Flight: B&M Flyer

As you can see, the park has an awesome steel collection that I really want to get the chance to experience.

Yeah i had heard people say that it was a good park but other people said that it wasnt so great. They have a lot of B&M coasters there and i think B&M coasters are pretty sweet so now i have some other reasons to want to go there other than Kingda Ka

Yeah, I was just kidding. I had to drive through jersey city and some other shady towns alone. Wow. Those are some serious dumps. I was surprised with how nice looking the area around Gadv actually was. It was very pretty.

They have some very good coasters, and a few very bad ones. However, that is what is going to happen when you have so many. And yes, Kingda Ka was a ploy to get more attention and publicity. It was also a way to attract guests to get more money since the corporation is so far in debt. Kingda Ka and the Golden Kingdom is part of phase one in their big 5 year plan of making the park better and making it a destination location ala Cedar Point.

Before this year, the place was a dump, in my opinion. I haven't been there in almost a month, but I hear that they are not doing that well again from some people in terms of keeping the place clean and with ride operation. Sounds about right to me. Glad to see they are getting back to their old ways. I guess that is what happens when you have so many people going to a park Let's just hope it doesn't rain too much this year

Heh, that was a pretty cool find. Now it's a matter if they will be able to keep these changes going.
