This Schwarzkopf could be missed if necessary but shouldn't. Great introduction to the community, as well as being reminded what it used to be like to be new.
Whether a classic ride or not, it's a very passable one. First off, the restraints flat out suck. You have to sit in a cart that's in a two-seater (so someone has to sit on your lap or you're just stuck with all that space) with solely a seat belt. No lap bar? That was my first peeve. Moreover, this ride is just a bore. I'm fully aware it's not supposed to be a thrill ride but at least make it worthy somehow. Just some turns here and there isn't going to cut it. Overall, if you're under the age of eight, this ride will be a blast for you. Everyone else, move along.
This is not meant to be a thrill ride. It's a piece of classic Americana. The lines are non-existant and it's an enjoyable diversion for everyone. It's one of the few original rides and a must-see.
Whizzer is a steel roller coaster. It was built in 1976. It is a spiral lift jet series. It was built by Scwarzkopf. It is 70' tall, it is 3,100' long. This steel coaster is fast, fun, rerideable, has an long duration, and a large capacity.
I love these type of coasters that seem like ones you could have in your backyard if you had enough money. This one has a bobsled/flume type of set-up that can make it slightly uncomfortable to ride with strangers, but the scenery and the hills make the ride itself very enjoyable. A breezy, fun ride, that has some excitement if its going fast enough. I would be really sad if this was ever torn down, I ride it every time Ive gone to Gurnee.
A coaster, but pretty lame. Ill go on it if there is no wait, and most other rides have a line. Its good to go on every once in awhile. Nothing spectacular. I wouldnt waste my time if yer looking for a thrill.
Well I find this a great starter coaster and love its location and the trees around it it makes the ride a whole lot better, rather than being dropped in a parking lot like Shockwave was.
i liked it. they should keep this coaster for a very long time. this is a great first timer for kids.
This is simply a great ride and I hope it is never removed. Perhaps I am biased because it is the first roller coaster I ever went on. The landscaping and trees make it wonderful, the ride passes over water and so close to the ground. The spiral lift hill is unique in itself. The seating is spacious and comfortable, which makes for a great ride experience. Maybe it doesnt have the speed or the drops like the newer and bigger coasters, it has some quick turns, and is full of nostalgia. You shouldnt pass this one up!
The last of the spiral-lift coasters. Ride it next time you go to SFGA. You wont regret it.
