This is a good wooden coaster. It is a little bumpy at times, but the helix was incredible. BUT THAN CAME THE THUNDERHEAD AT DOLLYWOOD.
This ride deserves all the astounding reviews it gets. The middle seat is a wonderful ride, and really the only bad seat is the back, but everyone knows not to ever sit on the back of a woodie. The Beast is simply marvelous. You can ride it ten times in a row and never get bored with it. The layout is genius. The second lifthill is so unbelievable. Going down a hill at high speeds into a tunnel while the track is slanted is an incredible rush. Also, few people seem to get the the lift hill slows down at times and the cars "duel." While going down the first hill, chances are youre more concentrateed on the tunnel ahead of you then the train careening towards you, but on the trip back the station you see the train hurtling down the hill towards you quite well. If Im not mistaken, thats all timed because i rode it five times and each time the life slowed and gained speed until it finally sent us down the hill were we "dueled". It was amazing. Ride this at night... Its the best nightime coaster on earth... Period. best woodie... period. If you dont ride this, your trip to Kings Island was a waste.
Absolutley, hands down, the best ride around. The back half of this coaster is so amazing. I go every single year (at least once) just to get my fix. I love this ride. I really love the surroundings and the layout of this ride, you get great air time, and night riding is fantasic. This just proves that woodies and classics are the very best. The only disappointment I have with The Beast... having a son.
This is my favorite coaster of all time, even though it is over 26 years old now! It is best at night, but is great anytime, especially from the front seat. The double helix at the end is brutal sometimes, but incredibly fun and intense. The layout is long and unique. This a a true classic that has withstood the test of time.
Outside of the terrible beating you take on this ride, its actually quite the marvellous coaster. The layout is astounding, built amazingly well into the forest, and the fact that you never see the ride from anywhere else in the park really adds to the excitement you get while riding it. It beats the hell out of you, especially if youre riding on wheels, but its fast as hell, even with breaks, and a whole lot of fun to ride. Cant go higher than an 8, since I was in so much pain after, but definately a must-ride.
I finally got the chance to ride this killer legend and it was more than what I expected yet pretty rough. ( I see why they called it the Beast now!! ) I mean, I could FEEL the rage of this wooden coaster. It almost felt alive!! I can say though, this is really not my favorite coaster in the park because I prefer steel over wood. I know that both my mom and I were not scared so much as trying to keep ourselves from getting the crap beat out of us!! It was a rush I have to say, but probably one I can skip without riding unless someone really wanted me to ride it with them. Overall though, this is one angry coaster and he WILL let you know that!!
The Beast is a wild coaster, the speed never lets up (except for the lift hills and brake run), and its terrain hugging layout makes for an even greater ride. Right now it is my favorite woodie.
The Beast was great, although I did ride during the day, without staying around for the nighttime ride, Im sure it wouldve added an extra thrill to it. The Beast falls short in thrills to its psychotic Son, but does live up to the hype of its 25 years of terror, and Im sure, will still be on everybodys top 10s 25 years from now.
This coaster was by far the most insane wooden coaster I have rode. I think because it is so long it gives the coaster another level of excitement. After the second drop the speed going into that tunnel was really awesome. I really loved the woods and I dont think their is another coaster that is built into the terrain as well as this beast.
I rode the beast six years ago and it still remains my wood coaster favorite. A well put together woodie with good length speed and gs.
Still withstanding the test of time.
