Review of Top Thrill Dragster @ Cedar Point
2 Rating Posted by: sowinski on 10/8/2006 6:37:00 PM
This is a fun ride. The speed and forces exerted on your body is awesome on this ride. However, due to the extremely short ride and lack of variety of elements, this coaster cannot be considered to be an upper tier coaster. The theming is good, but Id rather ride most hypercoasters than go for a ride on Top Thrill Dragster.

A 7? You are very spoiled than. I mean that is somewhat harsh for the worlds second tallest and fastest coaster.

Whats the deal with the spoiled comments. You appear to be just another CP fanboy. This is essentially a 10 second ride with a 90 minute wait. Sort of a launch/drop tower combo on roller coaster track. I feel a 7 is an appropriate rating.

I agree with sowinski too. Just because TTDs the 2nd tallest & fastest coaster in the world doesnt mean that it has to have ratings of at least a 9 to please everyone on here. Yall already know my experience of not being able to get on Top Thrill Dragster, but youve got to admit that after the 120 m.p.h. launch & the 400 foot drop, the rides just not all that. Most hypers are probably better than this because of its variety of elements & more drops. I know I loved Millennium Force the most after going to Cedar Point.

Even though this ones quite intense (I wouldnt ride it!), its not worth the wait in my opinion. Look at the rides Millenium Force at CP and The Pepsi Max Big One at BPPB. Both are very well designed. MF dives onto an island, rushes through the treetops, etc. TPMBO goes around the park and utilizes pretzel-style turns that make you fell like you will colide with the track or even plummet into the ocean! TTD may be scary as hell, but not much effort was apparently put into it. I dont like launched coasters very much, but if youre looking for a good one, try "Storm Runner" at Hershey Park.
