Alas, Colossus, I knew it in 1978 - what a great rough ride. I still remember the beautifully decorated blue "Lightning" and red "Thunder" trains. The best years were in the early 1980s with the PTC trains smoothly negotiating the tracks. Steel I-beams are now used to support the track and last year the ride was like sitting on a skateboard rolling over a deep-seamed sidewalk. I was pleasantly surprised when I rode Colossus again in Dec 03 and it was obvious that alot of work when into the right side. The Plastic Morgan wagons have been repainted (a sign they dont plan on replacing them soon...sigh). Unfortunately, this ride is too big to keep looking nice as Im sure Six Flags cant afford to paint all that wood as often as it needs.
