Good luck. You should have a great time. Don't worry about getting it all in, just relax and have fun.

Millenium Force should be your last ride of the day if you can stay til closing. if you get on the line, they will get you on the ride. If TTD is open go their first, but try to ride Raptor early, I think Raptor's line tends to get to long since it is near the main entrance. Mantis will not have a long line prior to 1 1/2 hours after the park opens since so many run to Millenium Force first. No rush for Magnum, it's a great ride but the line always moves very fast. Whenever you see a park employee with a Freeway stamp outside Millenium Force, just get the stamp and ask questions later

nice theory, get stamped and ask questions later. Can you only get a stamp at random times?

I'm not exactly sure how it worked. The first day I was there I saw these people with the stamp on their arms cutting the lines. So we saw them giving them out the second day and got stamped and then asked what it meant. My understnading is as follows (although a local/regular can probably explain it better) starting at a certain time, I think it was 10AM there were booths set up outside MF, Mantis, Raptor and Magnum and the stampers started stamping hands. At each ride about 100 people were given a stamp for 11AM on that particular ride, then 100 were stamped for 12, then 100 people were stamped for 1PM, and so on til 4PM. If you were stamped for MF 11AM you were allowed to take the Freeway shortcut to the front of the MF line once between 11-12. You were allowed two stamps per day. This was industrial strength ink and took an hour of rubbing to get off at night

I forgot about WT and totally agree about not getting one for Magnum. CP Guy - are you saying that when you were there they were charging $27.99 for the TTD Freeway? I had not heard that before. They weren't doing Freeway for TTD when I was there in May.

I know, that's an awful lot.

I remember last time I went, Gemini was a walk-on.

I think I will go on the weekend of June 11-13, because the MArlins are in Cleveland that week.

They DO NOT charge for the stamps. You can get two stamps per day, for two different rides, and they don't cost anything.

No, they do not. The Freeway system they have is limited, but free, it always has been.

What is FreeWay and how does it work?
Cedar Point has implemented a new free ride reservation service at Millennium Force, Wicked Twister, Magnum XL-200, Mantis and Raptor this season. FreeWay, which uses hand stamps, will be issued to only a limited number of guests each day. Here's how it works:
1. Go to the FreeWay hand stamp kiosk located near the ride entrance and get your hand stamp with a boarding time. Your boarding time is good for one ride on that specific coaster during the time period stamped on your hand. Boarding times are issued consecutively; you may not request a specific boarding time.

2. Return during the time period stamped on your hand and show your hand stamp to the ride host at the entrance to the ride. You will enter our separate FreeWay queue, which will allow you to merge into the regular ride queue just minutes before entering the station.

3. At the merge point a ride host will stamp your hand to indicate you have used your boarding time.

4. To allow as many guests as possible to take advantage of FreeWay, a guest may reserve only two times per day (one for Millennium Force).

Boarding times are subject to availability. FreeWay is not a guarantee to ride; weather or maintenance conditions may delay or cancel your reservation time.

http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_park/tips_faq/faqs.cfm

FreeWay is free. In no way do they mention a price, and certainly not the one you are talking about. I was at the park two weeks before you, and they were not charging for FreeWay.

You can find another article about FreeWay here and here where it even says that it is free.

Still don't believe me, here is a review of the park where is says:

Quote:
Cedar Point has implimented a medicore line cutting system. One upside, it is free to all guests. It is currently available on Millenium Force, Wicked Twister, Raptor, Magnum XL-200, and Mantis. Because of reliability issues, Top Thrill Dragster is not currently included in the Freeway program, regardless to what the map may say. Each guest can receive two stamps per day with a time frame to return in, one on each hand. When it is time, riders board through a special entrance and skip most of the line. The only problem is, the stamps run out quickly. You also have to plan to be near the ride of your choice right when they start handing out stamps. It was not that crowded on my visit and we did not even use Freeway, however I bet on more crowded days this would become more useful.

definitely worth the extra coin, actually the CP resorts aren't that much higher priced than the general area. Also the side entrance by Breakers puts you closest to TTD if you choose to go there first. If it looks like there are mechanical problems with TTD hit MF first, then MF again and then Mantis or Raptor before the park even opens to the public.

The resorts are definately worth it. Check out the site, they have package deals that get you tickets to the park, a couple night's stay, free parking, early entrance, and some in park discounts. Good stuff.

Their resorts look great.Of course we never stayed at one since we are only 2 hours away, but they look really nice if you need a place to stay. This is off-topic, but I can't wait 'till CP and GL are going to be included together in one season pass.

Back! Quick TR of what went down. We actually stayed at the Breakers Express. Anyway, We arrived at the hotel late 6-ish friday evening, unpacked and ate something, and caught the starlight admission to the park atound 7:30, which is really cheap. Got to the park, one word, Amazing!!. The sight of the skyline as we approched, just had me aw struck, everything was much bigger and better looking then I had imagined, and I finally got to see what the buzz is all about, and the park itself exceeded all expectations. It was very clean, the employees were fun and you can tell they took pride in their jobs, unloading/loading of rides was fast, and overall the park was just a great experience. First off, NO lines, I mean, everything was practically walk on or no more then 5 mins! We hit Raptor first that night, second to the last row, excellent ride and probly my favorite out of the ones I went on! It was my first B&M and it was as magnificent as everyone has been describing. My favorite part was either the zero-g or cobra roll. next was Blue Streak. Not too big, but a fun suprsingly air-filled ride! Smooth as well. After that we went on Corkscrew since it was right there. It was a pretty decent ride, and it was cool being able to walk directly under it. I got zero headbanging during the ride and the first drop even had some air since I wasn't stapled in! After that we decided to go on Power Tower, the green side/ downward thrust. I was a little nervous since I thought I wasnt so good on heights but it turned out to be a blast, great view of the park before the initial drop. Gemini was the last new ride we went on that evening. Only the red side was going since there really wasn't many poeple there. I found it to be fast and fun, but a little more rough then I expected, just jolts here and there not constantly. Anyway, after that we decided to hit Raptor again on the way out since it was dark and we wanted to try it out. We didn't eat anything there at the park that night, and left at closing.

part 2/edits coming soon! Also maybe some pics!

Nice first part of the trip. I look forward to hearing the second part. Nice to know they actually operate their rides, efficiently too, something someone else lacks.

Second part (next day) though I think I waited too long cause the details are fuzzy lol...anyway:

We woke up around 7:30 at Breakers Express, went out to eat, and got to the park right in time for the early entree. W had bought our tickets back at the hotel and payed only $35. Anyway, teh 2 coasters running early (even though after 15 mins all of them ran anyway) were TTD and MF. TTD was down the majority of the time in the morning, and MF was also down for a little while! And the lines also began to accumlate. Sadly, I skipped by those 2, since we didnt have alot of time for 3+ hour long waits. Regret it horribly, next time Ill wait it out just for those 2 coasters even if I leave right aftwards! Mantis was having some problems too or was still testing so we hopped on Iron Dragon next door. This was pretty fun coaster, the ending after the second lift was the best and had some good speed. Next we went towards the back of the park, and went on Thunder Canyon. Well, we got completely soaked, I was dumb and ignored the signs since on most you get alittle spray and a splash and thats it, but this one went directly under waterfalls so, yeah lol. After that I thought what the hell, might as well get on Snake River Falls. Next off we went around the corner for CCMR. It looked fun, but was running really slow and already had a nice sized line, so we skipped it and went over to mean streak. The structure looks amazing! Walking through the queue being in the middle was awesome, I couldn't wait to get on thinking it might not be as bad as they say. We got to the top of the lift, looking down that nice sized drop, so great.....then the horrendously noticable trims kicked in, and well, it was downhill from there. The helixes and turns that looked amazing, were taken pretty slow and with bad pacing. So much potential but way too many dead spots! I was dissapointed, it was terrible or rough, but could have been alot better. After mean streak, we walked back up for Mantis, and ended up taking the train ride its full circuit. It was ok with some neat views of the park and The skeletons were halarious, but the bugs/flys were pretty destracting. We sprinted for Mantis out of the train station, and quickly got on with about a 10 min wait. This would be my first stand up and turned out to really good. We got a middle seat, and going down the first drop was so much fun, as were the huge inversions. It was overall just alot of fun, but I expected alot more Gs though, the highest IMO were the Helix at the end or corkscrew. We departed Mantis and decided to walk across to Magnum XL200. Ive heard great things about this coaster, and well, it really was a great coaster! The first drop was amazing, as was the turning drop. The helix and the return trip on the bunny hops was alot of fun, especially with all of the tunnels! Some bad points were that I think it was riding a little slow that day, since after the first part of the helix it seemed just not to have alot of speed anymore. Don't get me wrong it was still great but I must have caught it on a slow day. We bought an onride photo and were off to Wicked Twister. I was somewhat nervous for this ride, it was my first impulse and first vertical coster of any kind. I got a seat towards the front of the train and they counted down the 3-2-1 and we were off. The launch was such a rush, and then going up the 2 spikes was amazing. I liked going backwards, and with every pass through the station we just kept getting higher and twisted more (went up the back spike twice, and the front thrice (last time to slow the train down). It was pretty desorienting and a blast for my first impulse coaster! After that we walked over to see how Disaster Transport was. I was really curious about this ride, Ive seen some of the pics of it without the building at RCDB but I was intresting in how good the theming was. Well, it was hot that day and the wait was 3:15, and we didnt even have that much time left, so, we skipped<

so are you planning a return trip already? a shame you couldn't fit MF and TTD bt it's just a testament that you can miss the two most popular coasters and still do many things for the first time. If another park had Magnum, Mantis, Raptor and Wicked Twister as their 4 best coasters it would still be perceived as a great thrill park
