So made a weekend of the Orlando parks, and I'm pretty tired, but thought I'd post some of the good and bad from the weekend.

- Magic Kingom, hadn't been in like 5 years, seems smaller than I remember for some reason. Splash Mountain is still hands down one of the best flumes, having not been on it in a while I really forgot how good it way, far far ahead of it's time. Whoever the guy was working the Haunted Mansion, it's not wise to insult groups that are 2 cars ahead, sometimes large groups are filling in the third car back and can hear you muttering things under you breath.

- EPCOT - Test Track was kinda meh, but still fun, a shorter wait would have made it a better time, but still overall not bad, but not great. Soarin' was pretty much what I remembered from the California Adventure offering, my girlfriend marked it as one of her favorites for the weekend. Had lunch in the Steakhouse at Canada, good service, good food, and a good time.

- Animal Kingdom - hadn't been to this park yet and it was getting late. Hit Everest first and found the line pretty short. Far better than I expected, the group as a whole rated it about a 8.5 to 9. The Yeti looked awesome, and the backwards part in the dark was far smoother than I expected. You can for sure tell the track was new.

After Ev, hit Dinosaur which also was better than I expected, but couldn't help roll my eyes at the tired story they wrapped around it... going back in time in a special vehicle should have been banned after Back to the Future. Overall though it was better than expected and I ended up enjoying this one more that I thought.

Primiveal Whirl - dear... god... I checked the reviews but no one made mention of the beating this thing gave out. We laughed, we cried, we probably will remember this one for the next week as we recover, but it was a good time.

Arrived MK at 10AM, left AK at about 9:30, had dinner at Rain Forest (ProTip: If someone has a dining card from Rain Forest, take it with you, we jumped ahead of a one hour wait and were sat almost instantly, best $10 my friend has ever spent.

Stayed on Disney property at the All Star, rooms wern't the cleanest I've seen, but it was quiet, and the beds were comfrotabler.

Day 2:
- Universal Studios - Had lunch and hit Shreck 4-d, is better than I remembered. Tried to get a pass for Jimmy Nuetron, found out the fast passes had indeed ended at USF/IOA (I wasn't sure when they were going to do this more later)

Hit E.T. for a young one in the group, as meh as I remembered it.

Decided to hit Men In Black and retain my coveted championship status, sat in line for 10 minutes, got an annoucement the ride has broken.

Went to to ride The Mummy, decided the 60 minute wait wasn't worth it, got cheesecake and headed to IOA.

IOA - Hit Cat in the Hat, liked it as much as usual. Headed over to try to get into the preview of the new elevated ride in Suessland, found out the invitation mailed to me said between 7AM and 9AM, and that I can't read thoughly

Decided to head to Dueling Dragons because of the 20 minute wait, arrive at the Dragons, which are now a 60 minute wait, continue on to JP River Adventure.

River Adventure, hrmm.... the doors didn't swing open at the entry, the dino's tugging on the guys shirt were broken, the box that drops above the boat wasn't working (hasn't in many visits maybe they did away with it again.) Rode to the to top, smoke around T-Rex wasn't really working so saw him from accross the room, drop was still great and got a bit damp.. hehe.. as bad a shape as that ride is, I still liked it heh.

Walked onward toward Dr. Doom, noted that Ripsaw was open again, didn't want to get soaked moved on.

Dr. Doom... 10 minute wait... I still love the view on this one.

Spiderman 60 minute wait, by passed it and wen't to the Hulk for a 30 minute wait and headed out.

Things of note for the weekend:

Disney was v

Good Tr. It is great to see you posting.

Anyhow, good to hear that the Disney parks are in good shape. I am, however, surprised that you skipped MGM. I guess you just had too much to do.

Nice to see a TR from you Mark! Its been a while

the box that drops above the boat wasn't working

It worked for me in March and that was the first time in a very, very long time that I saw it working. I'll just chalk it up to luck

Universal killing fast passes was a a MAJOR downer, topped with the fact the purchasable ones are now $35 dollars instead of $15 made it even worse, not really sure what to think here, we'll see I suppose.

I agree 100%.

Nice recap

(and good use of the under-appreciated spoiler tags)

Yea, the whole doing away with the fast passes seems so strange. Did they give any reason why they decided to can them?
