First off let me start off by saying how nice a city Montreal is. Very historic and the city has a very European feel. I'm trying to use my limited French (6th - 11th grade), but luckily everyone here speaks better English than I do French.
La Ronde is located on a island and was only six stops on the Metro (Subway) then a transfer and one bus stop. How refreshing to be staying in the center of a big city and only having to spend $2.50 ($2 American) to get to the park.
With my SF season pass, I had to go to the Resignment, to get a paper ticket for admission. I knew my time in the park was limited because I had to get back for a work dinner. I'm going to keep this TR simple so anyone going to the area can look quickly at what each type is ride is like (American name), my rating and the wait time. Here is the order that I rode the rides: Vampire (Batman the Ride clone) 9 rating : 25 minute wait Cobra (Stand-up coaster) 3 rating: 10 minute wait DiscoRonde (Break Dance) 7 rating: <5 minute wait Orbite (S&S Launch Tower) 7 rating: 15 mintue wait Tasses Magique (Spinning Tea Cups) 9 rating: walk-on Dragon (Indoor Coaster) 7 rating: <5 minute wait Auto Tamponneusses (Bumper Cars) 8 rating: 20 minute wait Le Monstre (Wooden coaster) 5 rating: 25 minute wait Super Menage (Vekoma Corkscrew) 3 rating: 10 minute wait Manitou (Claw) 7 rating: 15 minute wait Boomerang (Vekoma Boomerang) 5 rating: <5 minute wait Condor (it is a Condor) 7 rating: walk-on Tobaggon Nordique (Wild Mouse) 6 rating: 35 minute wait Maelstrom (spinning car Himalaya) 6 rating: walk-on
Overall the coaster line-up is average at best, but the park has a decent collection of flats including 4 of my favorite types (Condor, Break Dance, Claw, Spinning Tea Cups). Also the Bumper Cars are very unique. They are designed like bumper boats on wheels, quite fun once you get the steering down.
The park has a unique open air monorail that runs around the whole park about 12 feet above the ground. I know these used to be a lot more common years ago.
FYI - I was upset that the their dark ride "Moulin de la Sorcerie" was closed.
The food was hit or miss. I had three things to eat. At the Pizza Place I got Italian Bread with spices and melted cheese on top. It smelled real good and the taste did not disappoint. I also had poulet croquettes (Chicken nuggets) at a place called Chick n Chick, my advice, don't waste your money. They don't have elephant ears and they don't have funnel cakes, but they do have "beaver tails". Just an excellent variation of fried dough. The dough is stretched out to look like a beaver tail, deep fried and then they put on the toppings. I chose chocolate sauce and powdered sugar, quite excellent. You can get sliced bananas or raspberries on top but I went for the pure decadance.

Nice TR. I was surprised Le Monstre was only rated a 5. It also looked like a pretty good coaster to me.

No air, huh? What about laterals, or any special forces at all?

Huh, not what I would have thought. Although, as I'm sure you know, often the larger woodies have less intense forces than the smaller ones.
