I have to say that CP was among the best in station management and getting trains rolling. The Thunderhead was real good too, suprising for a bunch of hicks

It's not that they can't get the trains rolling, Hershey was able to do that as well, it's just when one train/car carrys only 4 passengers, long lines are inevitable, especially at one of the nation's most popular theme/amusment parks

Haha. Yeah, Dollywood does look like it has an interesting atmosphere.

It is one of the best atmospheres in my opinion

It looks like a really freindly park. I imagine they take their "southern hospitality" pretty seriously

SFA is in bad need of a new coaster. For a park that would add something new (and good) every year, throughout it's 3 names, this is really depressing: (I believe this is correct)

1993: Python
1994: Changed to Adventure World/Iron Eagle
1995: Mind Eraser
1996: Tower of Doom (for the time it opened)
1997: Typhoon Sea Coaster and Crocadile Cal's Outback Beachhouse
1998: Roar
1999: Changed to Six Flags/Joker's Jinx and Two Face
2000: Superman RoS
2001: Batwing
2002: N/A
2003: Penguins Blizzard River (an ok ride, but VERY VERY depressing when I look at the parks history of new rides, and the one year absence, I was really expecting a roller coaster)
2004: N/A

SO WE NEED A NEW COASTER IN 2005!!!!!
Also, I heard that the water park is closing, so they will have plenty of space for new rides, but didn't they already (like between SRoS and Batwing). But with the waterpark gone, crowds will be worse, so they need something new to keep the lines down.

SFA? In need of a new coaster? You recieved a crapload of coasters, MAJOR coasters I might add, while parks like Dorney have only gotten 3 since '97. You don't need a new coaster, you just want one.

SFA has a ton of space back i Gotham City. It is the most open "city" I've ever seen, it's just a few buildings in the middle of a field. Also, before SFA trys to open new rides, they need to clean the park up and learn to efficiently run the rides they already have. SFA needs alot of work before a new coaster sgould be invested in.

Thats kinda how they all are. Ive been to two "Gotham's", and neither one is themed well. And I agree, SFA has gotten its share of rides, and I think it falls into the same category as SFDL and SFAW- parks that have a few decent coasters but dont bring in enough people to need to build new stuff every year. Also, if the park is real bad, clean it up first

Yeah I mean seriously. SFA's very strength lies in their coaster lineup. Its come up in some other threads that SROS, Batwing, ROAR, Joker's Jinx, Two Face, and more make up one of the most underrated lineups. A new coaster is not what they need. Like all SF parks, it needs some management issues to be worked out, needs to get more friendly, needs to be cleaner, and provide a better atmosphere. This park in particular I have heard horrible things about the management and the atmosphere.

Oh, whatever you've heard, they're all true. Here are some things I witnessed during my visit:

1) the ride op for Roar was visibly high. He was entertaining himself by making the "timmy" noises from Southpark over the loudspeaker.

2) The Mind Eraser ops were lazy beyond all belief. They would dit around and do nothing. They would let a train sit on the block brakes that aren't shaded for ten minutes at a time. The exposure to the sun on the brakes caused for someone to have a heat stroke when they got off of my train.

3) Batwing was closed for the whole day. One train broke the day before, but since there's another train, they didn't bother to fix it. Then when the other train broke, they were screwed.

4) They need to keep the rides that they have in better shape. I had brake fluid dripping on my when I was in the two face station waiting to start my ride.

5) trash and dirt everywhere. Trash cans, shade, and tables with shade were in very short supply

To add to Swimace here are some of the things I experienced.
1) - I was stuck at the top of the Drop Tower for 5 minutes
2) - Ride Ops on Wild One were more concerned with people ducking under the rails when the line was empty than getting trains out of the station
3) - Batwing running only one train all day (which would not have been so bad if not for 4 and 5
4) - S:ROS down most of the day
5) - Jokers Jinx down most of the day they ended up running about 7 rides before I got on the train. My train bucked right before the launch, they emptied the train and never restarted the ride
6) - Roar gets stuck on the brake right before coming back into the station. Sat out there for 15 minutes before maintainence came and the ride ops could manually unlock the restraints.

But all the coasters (except Mind Eraser) are above average fun coasters.

They don't need a coaster as much as some parks like valleyfair does

ben, I was thinking the same thing; this past year has been pretty weak. However, this next year is shaping up to be a good one.

It's going to be a really good year except for the fact that ttd is getting dethroned.

Why are you upset? You had to expect that it would happen eventually anyway.

Think of all of the trouble that Cedar Point, a very well maintained park, had with Top Thrill Dragster.

Now think of SFGAdv in that situation. Scary, huh?

Yeah. It's my home park so I should be happy, but I'm more scared of what will happen to their coaster and annoyed that TTD is being dethroned in a coaster that appears just a taller recreation.

SF has to do some original designs. If I'm not mistaken, they haven't added any new concepts to any of their parks since X at MM. And if they're going to just get another clone, they should pick something that's more their speed - maybe a, well, um, shoot...

You don't think that they learned from X and want to see other parks and chains struggle over new concepts do you?
Something tells me thats not the real reason

Bill Gates can afford to hold a large amount of stock in a lot of things.

You don't need a point, when you have the money. Why does anybody buy a house that is too big or a fancy car.

FYI - Bill Gates invites all the summer interns at Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond to his house for a summer BBQ. It's summer interns only, no regular employees.
