Yes, and like I said, pointbuzz.com and Red Rascal have said that Sunday is the best day to go.

Well, like I said before if you'd read my other posts, I only have one day, a Sunday. If I had more days, or different days, it might be better, but I don't, so rather than bitching about it, I'm just going to make the best of it. I'd rather have one day than no day.

BTW - My family and I have booked our hotel. We couldn't find a hotel to use points at in Sandusky, so we're going to be staying just outside of Toledo. I know it's about an hour away from CP, but that's not too big of a deal.

I agree with Animan1 one day in CP is better than none at all. The fact is its always going to be crowded at CP in the summer, but even if there are a lot of people in the park they keep their lines moving in a timely manner. Im sure you'll have a great trip regardless of the crowds. Have fun and let us know how it went.

Definitely, I'll write a nice TR, plus reviews. And like I said, the park is open 13 hours the day we're going, so we'll have a lot of time.

I have a tentative ranking of the top 5 rides I'd like to ride:

1) MF
2) TTD
3) Raptor
4) Magnum
5) Blue Streak

After that I have Mantis, WT, Mean Streak, CCMR, Wildcat, etc. I will probably be skipping Disaster Transport and maybe Corkscrew unless they have short lines. Same with Iron Dragon.

I hope the lines arent too bad so you get to experience all the great coasters at CP. The only coaster that will probably have increadilble slow lines would be mantis, just because of the restraints. Hopefull TTD wont give ya any problems and the line will keep moving. I think your gonna have plenty of time to get them all in though. And remember if your in the line before the park closes you get to ride. Have fun and good luck.

Animan- Even though I haven't been there since 2002, I would HIGHLY suggest placing Disaster Transport before CCMR, CCMR is fun but DT is alot better. Just my opinion though...

Thanks for the thoughts katydid.

Thanks for the tip sfo1. I love mine trains, but I've heard CCMR isn't that good. I'd like to ride them both though. However, I heard the 3-D glasses for DT are $1. Is that true?

Yes, 3D glasses are $1.00, but I didn't get them, so I can't tell you what they're like. CCMR is ok, but I thought DT was better.

This may give you a little advice on the ridesI think the reviews on TPC are ALOT more helpful, as there are many more, but you might wanna check this out anyway.

The 3-D glasses for DT are just for the queue line, you dont have to buy them to enjoy the ride or anything, they just make the line a litte more entertaining while you wait. I think you should give DT a chance. It really is a pretty fun ride espically the first time because its in the dark and you really have no idea whats gonna happen. CCMR isnt horrible, but its really pretty tame. If you have the time give them both a ride, but if ya have to choose I would recommend DT.

I also have a question, since we are thinking of entering the park with a gate closer to TTD and MF- Is the Magnum Gate also for entering CP, or is that gate just meant for Soak City and Challenge Park? Thanks.

Corkscrew, Iron Dragon and Blue Streak are generally the shortest lines. Disaster Transport and CCMR tend to have the longer lines that might not justify the wait if pressed for time

OK, good to know. I'll try to give DT one ride, but I'll skip the 3-D glasses. CCMR too, just because I like mine trains more than most people. I've been on Demon at SFGAm, so I might skip Corkscrew. I'd like to try Iron Dragon, and definitely Blue Streak though.

Well, he's kind of right. The Magnum Entrance, though, connects Soak City/Challenge Park and Cedar Point on either side of the gate.

OK Moron - stop with the smilies and you are not kinda right. The question was as follows:

Is the Magnum Gate also for entering CP, or is that gate just meant for Soak City and Challenge Park?

The gate is not "just meant for Soak City and Challenge Park". When I was there last year everyone lining up there for early entrance ran straight for CP and not Soak City or Challenge Park

NEWS FLASH!!!

CORKSCREW IS NOT DEMON

I know! But both are Arrow loop and corksrews, it's just that Demon has 2 loops instead of 1, and Corkscrew has the speed bump. That's it. Trust me, I know the differences, and since Demon is nothing special, I don't expect anything different from Corkscrew.

I was just there on Memorial Day Weekend and I have a few tips.....

-Eat at Midway Market. It's a very good deal for what it is. It only cost a few dollars more than getting a burger and fries at some stall, plus you get to sit down away from the madness.
-First thing, go on whatever ride you most want to no matter how long the wait is. There's nothing worse than leaving without going on the ride you most wanted to.
-After your first coaster, head to the back of the park. It will be empty. I suggest riding Mean Streak, Magnum XL-200 before lunch, after going on MF or TTD first thing.
-Do not rely on the Freeway system!! I can not stress this enough. If you really want to go on a ride, unless the line is ridiculously long to the point where you won't get to go on anything else, just get in line! Sometimes they don't do the freeways and there are very few of them. If you really want to go on a coaster, just get in line if possible.
-TTD lines can get very long. I suggest going on MF first thing, because a lot of people go to TTD first. Throughout the day, pass by TTD as you go from coaster to coaster. Check out the wait times. If it is under two hours, get right in line. The wait time is about two hours as the line gets back near the grandstand.
-Ride MF in the front seat. It's worth a bit extra of a wait.

The park is only open till 11 p.m. Also, I was already planning on riding Magnum at night, along with MF and Raptor.

Thanks for the tips, too, benleibo.

Are there signs for wait times at the head of the line like they have at Universal/IoA?

look at a park map(one you get at the park not the internet) They have marked entrances

you are a fool!

Fact - I used that entrance to enter the park
Fact - you have never tried to use this entrance
Fact - in the 2004 Cedar Point Getaway Guide they sent out, the park map still shows the entrance

it does not matter what your park map shows. You can get into the park from that entrance. I have done it. It's not a trick.

Stop arguing a point you know nothing about. Are really so dense to think that if someone has a dual pass and wants to go from the park to Soak City and back needs to inconvenience themselves by walking halfway around the outside of the park versus cutting through the middle. You are a fool!

yes there are signs, if not there is always a park worker at entrance to the line can give you an accurate wait time

thx - I'd prefer to here the facts from someone who lives closer to the park and knows it better than me since I am 10 hours away. But given the choice you have here me or CP Guy. I think you are following the voice of reason

Personally I don't know this entrance existed before I used, I don't study park maps and never stayed at Breakers before my last trip. I doubt that anyway who hasn't satyed at Breakers or Camper Village (or the regulars) even know of this entrance.

thx for your confidence

In terms of signs with wait times, they're not as good as some other parks. Genreally, the people at the entrance to the ride will tell you the wait time if you ask them. However, often they say it "can not be determined."

Here's a few tips for a rough idea of waits...

-TTD
Wait from the entrance sign by the tower is about two hours.
Wait from the line as it passes the grandstand and gets to the ride's station is about two and a half hours.
-MF
Wait for the front seat from the point where the queue enters the station is about 30-45 min.
*Rode during early entrance so don't know regular times.
