More people know Disney because Disney is more than just a park. Theres TV stations, movies, etc etc. While CF is just parks and by the sounds of it don't advertise nearly as much as Disney.

Well, CP can't make movies, cause i'm pretty sure they don't have much talent , but i think CP should have enough money to start expanding their advertising. It's sort of like a chain reaction. More people come, so they expand advertising, therefore even more people come, etc. etc.

It really doesn't matter though, CP is doing fine unlike a park south of it.

Yeah, CP is better than WoA because of costomer service, cleanliness, and lack of laziness. You know WoA is doing something wrong when they have 10 coasters, a free wildlife park, and a water park and people are still not coming...

WoA is East of CP. South would be PKI.

CP gets noticed more when they get some new major coaster, like when TTD opened up a couple of the local news stations here talked about it, and it was in the Florida Today newspaper.

Those are supposed to be pretty beaches. But I surf and boogie board. So my ideal beachs would be located in Hawaii and Australia. That's what makes a beach. The size of the waves. And the entire east coast blows donkey balls when it comes to size of waves. I was so pissed when I went to a FL beach and found the waves weren't large enough. It's not the beach without a good wave.

Disney is a place to spend a week in CA. They get it all the time.

Of course it's a pathetic beach, but it's better than nothing. CP isn't a place to spend a week. Neither is any one park in CA, well, maybe MM since it might take that long to experience all of their coasters.

(sarcastically) And the eastern states are SO BIG. It takes what 5 hours max to drive through each of them? I'll bet you those out of staters were all withing a 1 day drive and I'll bet that's pushing it.

North Carolina isn't that far. Yea and PA is so far from Ohio.lol. It's also SO BIG THAT IT TAKES SO LONG TO DRIVE THROUGH.

Believe it. When I went to BGW I met a couple who went to Ohio just for CP, and were stopping at BGW on their back to North Carolina. And it's funny how most (90%) of the people in my area have been to or have heard of Cedar Point.

And as far as the beach, people to the west of CP would rather go to the Great Lakes than go all the way to the Atlantic (it's cheaper) and they also get the park with it.

CP will never be a destination umong families until they add a lot more and offer more than a 2-3 day trip. And I better clarify what destination means since some of you got confused. Destination is where travel plans have to be made. 6-day drive, Plane tickets purchased. Not taking a 1 day drive from nearby states. That's local guests. Not visitors from afar.

I think the indoor water park is good idea that will generate millions all year long. But I still believe it's for the locals. And I'm skeptical about the sun. Will they have windows at the top? Or will it be a bunch of albanos that can't tan?

Toaddy, I doubt any state in the U.S. is a 6-day drive to Disney. It's only a 1 day drive from PA. So, it isn't a destination but your defintion.

It can be. It take 4 from CA to FL. And that's non RV, non bus, and no stoping to see a few sites. So therefore it can easily turn into a 6 day drive. Disney is different from CP. CP doesn't attract anyone from afar other than enthuiests. Families are not flying in from England to visit CP. They aren't flying or driving from western states to visit CP. They are going to Disey though. Destination.

If they want rollercoasters, they'll come from anywhere, enthusiasts or not. They go to Disney because of the name, I don't think anyone that doesn't know much about the amusement industry has heard of Cedar Point.

CP is a destination, same as Hershey and other large amusement establishments. One doesn't have to stay at the same place for a long period of time to call it a destination.

Destination among enthusiast. Yea thay do. That's called a vacation destination. That's where the big bucks are. You think Disney would be where they are if they didn't have mutiple parks at their properties?

Besides the U.S. parks, Disney doesn't have multiple parks on their properties. And Disneyland was doing just fine before Califnoria Adventure.

A vacation can be one day or three months.

BTW, there's two Disney parks in Japan.

One day is not a vacation.lol. That's funny. You're not going ask your boss if you can take a day off like you would take a week off. More than likely for the one day you'll just call in sick. But oh yea. You guys are young and don't have jobs.

Yep. I'm not sure Disney Sea is open yet though. Might not be till 04. But Japan is so overcrowded it doesn't really matter. Tokoyo Disney is the most attended theme park in the world.

3r1c nice sig. But, how about NO! Are you kidding me? I don't trust Dean. He keeps talking about how he wants to create jobs. Which is interesting because most government jobs have nothing to do with him. They are state not fed. And the other jobs are in business which won't happen if he raises taxes. And Liberman and Cary don't stand a chance.

Lets see what the dictionary says about a vacation...a period of time devoted to rest, travel, or recreation. A period of time can be a day, ten days, or ten minutes.

And DisneySea has been open for quite some time now.

I know this has been basically said, but I have to say it.

Cedar Point is about as secret as a sharpie would be on white paper.

Believe what you want but most people don't consider it a vacation unless they are off for at lest 3 days.
