What's the least beautiful coaster EVER? Doesn't matter what size, even if it's rough or BLAH BLAH BLAH, YOU KNOW!!!!!! A lot like my previous thread.

Viper's ugliness rivaled it's roughness before they destroyed it. Hypersonic XLC is ugly.

this is a really tough one for me, because, as many of my firends and family know, i'm a big supporter of ugly public art and architecture. most of the time something really ugly becomes something very beautiful in my mind.

for example steel coasters such mantis or joker's jinx. they are very garish in appearance, with blinding bright colors, inorganic lines, and an overall discordant look to them. however, it think that's cool.

if you ever go to the hirshorn gallery at the smithsonian, or to the museum of modern art in nyc, a lot of the 20th century metal sculptural stuff isn't too far from mantis or joker's jinx in terms of appearance. i think of those types of coasters as a sort of modern sculpture.

on another front, a lot of people list high speed thrill coaster as very ugly becuase of the chipping paint and cheap, dodgy look to it. once again, i feel that i am totally endeared to that ride becuase of it's crappy look, so i cannot describe it as ugly. so poorly maintained rides i cannot label as ugly.

this is a hard subject for me!

Even though I've only seen two of them in person, I think most Togo coasters look like random scraps of metal that were built by retards. I s'pose High Speed Thrill Coaster could be considered ugly due to the rust and stuff, but there are a lot of coasters that look like HSTC (e.g. Lil Phantom, Rainbow Chaser, and Kiddie Coaster, the Lake Compounce version). I know they're from different manufacturers, but I'm not even sure they're as ugly as HSTC.

Wow jdale. This thread seems to be familiar to me like the one I've made a while ago, but oh well. My answer's still the Wildcat at Cedar Point. Purple & yellow color schemes just don't mix right at all.

I agree with larrygator about Viper. It is (was) by far the ugliest coaster that ever existed. Also, while I really enjoy the ride itself, I think Hershey's Wild Mouse is pretty ugly (heh, oxymoron).

RCGenius--I have to disagree with what you said about Wildcat. I have to say that the old paint color looked just plain old. (and possibly ugly ) Dull colors. But for me, here's my list of the ugliest coasters that I know of: Nemisis, Viper (SFGAdventure), Blue Diamond Streak, HSTC, and any Intamin stand-up.

Nemesis? Ugly? Because of it's faded and rusty track? Yeah right. Looks quite nice if you ask me.

since i regularly campaign for ugliness, i felt like i should do what any good politician would do and say a bunch of stuff without addressing the question directly.

I think the old half-pipe coasters, the ones that do inline twists (I forget the name) look like PVC pipe.

T2 is by far the ugliest coaster I've ever seen. It's the best SLC I've been on, but so ugly.

I agree w/ coasterf42 on the T2 nomination. I like the idea of going w/ an unorthodox coaster color but that thing is ugly. Shockwave at PKD has one of the ugliest color schemes I've seen.

The chance Toboggans are the ugliest coasters you can find. No paint job in the world would make then look good.

The ride does suck but the color matches perfectly with the theme in that area.

Ugliest coaster I've seen in pictures: Batman & Robin: The Chiller @ SFGAd

Ugliest Coaster I've seen in person: Psyclone @ SFMM

Six Flags parks tend to have the ugliest coasters.

X is pretty ugly and I think Revolution is ugly with the all white, any coaster all white sucks.

And lastly any wood coaster with anything but PTC trains or Millennium Flyer trains are probably ugly, because those are the only ones worth looking at.

?????????

not sure i follow this sentence - "probably ugly"? "worth looking at"?

i can't say that i agree that trains can make the whole ride ugly, but i can say that NAD trains aren't PTC or M-flyers and they are just about the coolest looking around. the old trains on the kw jack rabbit are beautiful too.

I typed that very poorly.

I meant that most wood coaster trains that aren't PTCs or M-Flyers are ugly.

NADS and the Jack Rabbit trains are really cool looking.

Ugliest I've seen in pictures: the Williams Grove Cyclone (well, you didn't say it had to be operating)

Ugliest in person: HSTC, but word is that it's being taken apart this winter, so hopefully it's being painted
