Thanks for the reminder Freebird.

IMO though this was one of the worst specials I have seen. They spent almost all the show at 3 parks. I just wasn't impressed.

Which parks? I saw a travel channel special on coasters the other day, and THAT show only went to 3 or 4 different parks (Geauga Lake, BGW, and Paramaount in VA).

Yeah, they didn't seem like they varied too much. Some of the awards were stupid, like "Best Bumpercars Award"? Who cares, why didn't they show awards like the "best food award" or the "best landscaping award"? It really should have been a 2 hour show, because they really didn't show that many parks.

Forget 2 hours! They should do at least a weeklong special, as there are so many good parks out there, it's impossible to cover even a small # of them and do a good job in 1-2 hrs.

They used to be able to do it...

Yeah, I just finished watching this show, and it blew. I hated how they kept speeding up the on-ride and even regular footage. Also, I didn't care for the people who were interviewed or even most of the subject matter. I was hoping they'd have "Best Simulator" at the end and show Spiderman but they didn't

Travil chanel has been showing the old shows all week. I agree the Show was a bit short and seemed to avaid to many catigorys. I two would have liked to see more parks and maybe pics of video clips of the rides in 2nd and 3rd place.

But they cano't show every thing. I don't even think 2 hours would be enough. I do think they should make a number of new videos.

I'm sure programs like these get decent ratings because theres really none out there. Hopefully there will be more to come.

I think that is a great award, did Knoebels win it? They have the best bumpers in my opinion, good old Lusses.

I have had many bad experiences with books/shows about amsuement parks. A lot of them have no/repetitive information that isn't any help. I taped Mega Machines: Ultimate Thrill Rides a while ago on the Science channel. The show looked like it was made in the '80s but it was made in '05! That is what many of my experiences with coaster stuff is like. Bad quality pictures and such. I highly enjoy the coaster books by Charles J. Jacques, Jr. , Jim Futrell, and David Bennett.

I'd bring it to where you are making a lake of the East River and Hudson
If I could open my arms wide enough for a marching band to march out
They would make your name sing and bend through alleys and bounce off all the buildings

I actually ment "Best Go-Carts Award". They should have actually had a "Best Bumper Cars Award" instead. I mean why have a best go-carts award when they are much less popular then bumpercars. Doesn't make sense.

And most places that have go-carts aren't APs so who cares anyway?

The roller coaster & amusement park special wasn't that good. It should've been at least three hours long for it to be a somewhat decent show. Besides, they practically show the same thang that I remember just about every other year, with the exception of new roller coasters popping out during the year. We all pretty much know which awards are given to amusement parks & roller coasters anyway, so they're all becoming too predictable.

I used to watch and tape these shows every time they were on but I missed it this year. They used to have these specials on for a week before coaster season started and they were very good. I would like to see more shows added to cable on this subject because there are alot of unrecognized amusement parks in the USA that could use support and visitors.

There are allot of smaller parks that could use the exposure. Lets see some regianal shows on travil channel. Parks of PA, Hidden gems of New England (SFNE, Canobie, LC, etc)
