What I find most humorous about the whole thing is that the "answer" they gave to a dead thread was wrong!

Yes, yes, Mr. Technical, but the point is...the answer they gave answered a question that had already been answered, and the answer they gave was wrong for the information being sought by the original asker.

Again techincally he is correct - the frst post asked simply for the tallest, not the one with the biggest drop. Ambuguity, yes, but Big Shot fits in and certainly is not "dead wrong". Is his answer incorrect, maybe to some but not really if you look at it the right way. Plus, even if it is wrong, there have been about 15 drop towers listed incorrectly in this thread, why no reply to those? At least he came up with something witty that had not been mentioned yet (as far as I could tell from what I skimmed through) - if you ride Big Shot, are you going to be saying "meh, it's only 100 feet tall" or "holy crap look how tiny people are from 1000 feet up"?

So there - every possible "correct" answer has been given. End of story, really.

^Have you considered switching your major to become a lawyer?

Although I must argue that the Big Shot is in no way the "tallest" just the highest. Saying the tallest freefall tower means that your measuring the height of each tower, not the height of each tower plus the foundation it sits on. While the tallest doesn't mean the one with the biggest drop, it does mean the height of the tower from its base to its tip. One good example of this are the two Drop Zone towers, one is taller but the other one has a longer drop because of a different drop mechanism at the top of the tower.

I'm not rejecting your argument - honestly, I'd say the one in Australia too, but I do see logic behind the Strat tower one and I think that it too should be included for all intents and purposes. I mean to a casual Vegas visitor, it looks like an insanely tall tower even if it isn't too big. Only us enthusiasts would critique so harshly.

Honestly a large part of it as I saw it is that the above poster was trying to jump on the guy/girl for bumping a thread and while I think it was pretty much unneccessary, there really isn't that much wrong with it - better than starting a new thread, no? I do get tired of other members pseudo-attacking one another outside of the FON on occasion, this being one of them. Except MRC's spelling, I declared that open season long ago just in hopes that it would provide motivation to clean up...

then wouldn't a tower ride built in a high altitude city like Denver or Mexico City be the tallest.
